IDK this thing is actually really ****ing awesome. You get a kickass tablet for $299 and it basically acts as a streaming computer if you want to play PC games on a TV.

Think I'm going to buy one of these.

If only it was 10 Inch... id be sold.

    I don't feel like going from 10 to 8 Inch, it's a big downgrade.

you'll need a fortune on top of 299$ for the product to be able to enjoy this thing

No info on which version of android it's running? And what is up with only 2gb ram on all K1 based stuff, should really be 3-4gb by now.
Looks like an amazing tablet but think I'll wait for the next nexus to replace my current one even if going by what's online it will basically have the same specs

I always wanted a tablet to read manga, could not care less for game streaming :)

That said, i only need a GPU 6xx to stream games, i will eventuall buy a 8xx or 7xx but tbh, as a fighting games fan, i really hate game streaming.

The fact is, its a decent priced and powerfull tablet and without the retarded QHD "battery hog" screen resolutions.

Can games and apps be installed on the SD card or are the buyers of the 16gb version just buying a gaming paperweight?

the CPU should support 64bit based on what was said at the Google I/O this year, but right now android doesn't. But that should change very soon. and the android OS it uses is stripped down, if the original shield is anything to go by. no bloatware at all. so I would say 2gb of ram would be completely fine.

on the current shield you can copy games to the SD card, so I would of thought that you could with shield tablet.

    Says it's a 32bit chip, not 64bit on a hardware level...

Just not interested in that case, would rather wait for the 64bit model.

If I want to play video games on my 60inch display I can simply use my already routed hdmi cable connected to my main computer. If I want to play android games I have a smartphone called the Galaxy s5 which I can also plug into my 60inch tv and play games on with a wireless controller. Why would ne1 want something like this ? I don't get it. Better yet I also have a 13in display laptop that blows this thing away and is a real computer with a keyboard! Regardless this is just a gimmick joke item that should never of been made in the first place.

I don't understand comments like this, it's a powerful tablet with low latency streaming capabilities and a pretty good stylus. I plan on hooking this up to the living room TV so it can double up as a console by streaming PC games when I'm not using it as a tablet.
Is it a joke item because it's a tablet or because Nvidia made it? I don't get it.

So no update to the first shield device? Why man? That's what we were waiting for. That was way more practical and portable wasn't it?

We've been able to use a tablet and an PS3/XBOX controller for yrs now. My Surface pro 2 + xbox controller + steam makes this irrelevant but i've never wanted to carry all that crap around to play a game.
