That's not bad. Windforce didn't soudn that that bad at 2400 RPM but after that it started to get bit annoying and at 2700 RPM it was getting annoying. It was rather ****ty cooler. This Asus maxes out at ~1850 RPM in most stressful games (more like one game actually: Star Citizen) under 100% load (when overclocked) but average is obviously less than that. Obviously much better than the ****force, bit hard to say how this compares to TFIV since the 290 is such a space heater. There's something seriously wrong with ****force design. The only good thing was that it had really low idle fan speed. I personally completely ignore fan % since it is never comparable. The only thing I care about is RPM.
I am getting weird static noise during the loading screen in watch_dogs. Once I am in game the sound is gone. Anyone else facing the same issue? I have the reference card
Thanks! enabling adaptive vsync in nvidia cp resolved the issue. I also searched about the "coil whine" issue on other forums and found out that it may happen due to the PSU not supplying enough power! I have a cooler master gx 750w where I used to run with 2 660s in SLI without any issue, and from what I know that the 780 draws less power so this should not be the issue, what do u think?
Not that it doesnt supply enough power, but more like PSU gets higher stress and then its components vibrate/ coil while.. Mine is surprisingly very silent (nothing special, bought for ~ 100€), even now with 780gtx in it, only a very faint whine in something like 3dmark 2013 1st test or StarSwarm ingame menu with 4000fps+..
Naahh... It's not about lack of power more like quality issue (although usually it doesn't make any real difference). That particular Cooler Master PSU is turd and I would change it for that very reason.
I have been using the same power supply since 2010 and I never had an issue with it despite what all the reviewers say. Anyways using EVGA frame rate target (set at 120) got rid of the coil whine totally.
hii guys i have some problems or i think i have, let me explain i get 2 gtx 780 and i enable sli and run 3d mark fire strike and i get 9500 points from 2 gtx 780 in sli whit oc of 1110mhz iam pretty shure that is not good i supoust to get at least 13000 points right? or its ok please ai need and advice here maibe i do something wrong?
yes i think is the reason i have and old 950 so maibe its time to repake aswell the mobo but i was hoping get more points there
idle are 39c and 35c and stress dont pass 84c i live on the cosat so is very warm here ambient temps are 32c
in 3mark 11 i get 16500p in performance in unigine valley 4300p extreme HD IN unigine 4.0 3100p ultra
Wow..normal, well you definitely have a cpu bottleneck but THAT bad? Kinda hard to believe. 3500 points is alot in firestrike. Have you checked your running processes? I had a similar problem with low score because of my logitech webcam software, was autostarting with windows and was using CPU juice thus lowering my score by alot.
