I have a HDD: ST500DM002-1BD142 ATA Device. (A Seagate 500 gig HDD) It is running out of room because of big games. I noticed that the capacity is 476940 MB Is 23 gigabyte a reasonable difference? I know that some difference is normal but that is a huge amount. Any ideas please?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibibyte gibibyte and gigabyte have a look windows measures in gibibytes, hard drives measure in gigabytes. and no, nothing is ever really measured in gigabits, except maybe internet speed in future.
Old post though it is my reply was an attempt at a small bit of teasing. The size seems smaller than the capacity it should be because Windows quotes the binary value, so 500 Gb seems smaller but is all there. Sorry won't try and fail written humour again.:bang:
As an added bonus most of my internet usage is usually around 3-4 am when normal folks are sleeping. I think I went to bed at around 9 am this morning, or rather yesterday morning. 12:23 of the am and Far Cry 3 is calling. Maybe italics should be reserved for humour attempts. LOL should be censored from the forum, only long form LAUGHING OUT LOUD should be used. Uh hm, "badum tish". Nah that doesn't work either. Laters.
