Yea he says to run the game at high and it still uses the ultra textures. Why would I want to use anything less then ultra? My video card is 3GB so it can handle it no problem. The stutter went away when I changed the AA setting away from FXAA. So the textures were not my problem.

Well, I agree. I've got a pair of 780Ti's so not being able to run any games at total max settings is annoying.
All I'm saying is that, as for right now - as I described my settings above - ultra textures or even maldo high(ultra) textures just stutter.

Using 'Maldo medium' (ie high) is the ONLY way I can get rid of all stutter.

By the way, What you're saying about FXAA makes no sense. FXAA is the least intensive AA method.

What kills the game for me is the car/NPC pop-in, hope this can be fixed by the mod.

Go in the game options and just turn off DoF. For the times you might want it on, just turn it back on. Example: Anytime I play Madness digital trip I disable DoF. When I am done I switch it back on. Pretty simple.

I Merged the Ubi patch 1.03 with The Worse Mod 0.7 "normal camera" the day the patch came out. You can get it here.

Since maldo's fix is quite big, can someone tell me how to merge the 0,7 with maldo's?

    I love this :)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88g37uSJ6ZY

it really captures also some of the achievements of the dev and art team i saw in game :)

and you can better understand their vision if you watch this and what they really achieved visual/performance wise :)

    (non modding results aka vanilla)

Its really sparse nowadays a game and it's vision touches me that much as Watch_Dogs did :)

If you have Aero enabled you get vsync in borderless automatically.

The two things that got the game running perfectly smooth for me was running in borderless @66hz and turning threaded optimization (in my WD profile within nvidia control panel) to off. This is with textures on high and everything else maxed.
I've not played since the patch. This was also without Maldo's mod. I've not tried it yet. I usually limit my frame rate to a couple frames below my refresh.

Many people had issues with 60hz refresh. Switching to anything around 5 frames over that helped.

WD was running around 40fps on my gtx670.

I always had the frame buffer to 1 and the ingame vsync off obviously.

Those main two things I listed though helped massively, it was immediately noticeable. =]

    Hi wunkley,

Since Maldo stutter fix 2.0 I've using a very similar config as you and worked well, but your config works even better :) thanks

    My previous config:
    - Maldo stutter fix 2.0
    - shortcut -disablepagefilecheck (also think this doesn't make any difference in my system)
    - Refresh rate 80hz (dell 2714h overclocked)
    - borderless window+RadeonPro dynamic vsync at 70hz
    - Max buffered frames 2
    - Temporal SMAA
    - Textures: high (ultra with Maldo fix)
    - Motion blur off (personal taste) and DoF on
    - Every other setting maxed

Can you test if it works better for you borderless window instead fullscreen+Vsync "2"? For my r9 290 I have less stuttering but much worse fps. Please try RadeonPro dynamic Vsync at 40hz, 70hz, etc and let me know how it works.

I know, it made no sense at all lol. But now I have almost no stuttering. The latest WD update seemed to make the stuttering even worse. Not sure what the heck they are doing, but the WD patch fix seemed to make it a lot better.
