After hours testing... Watch Dogs (E3 Bloom effect working)

Btw this is my absolute favorite weather state i find it much better then many of the things we even saw in many of the E3 Demos

So much atmosphere you hardly find in any Game

And the combination and tuning of the whole is near perfect

Sorry, but you have to delete the old xml file and let it create a new one and then modify it ultra?

 

Before you put patch.dat/.fat in the win64 folder you start the game and select Ultra or High. Close the game and put the patch files in the win64 and start the game again. Everything should work.

Regarding the High/Ultra preset requirement, I'm using "Custom" and it works too but the difference is that I've only changed AA and GPU Max Buffer (which makes it Custom mode).

A few users say they have stuttering problems even with TheWorse modifications. So I made a quick STUTTERING TEST PATCH that uses the modifications from TheWorse too

IMPORTANT - READ FIRST!

-This is not a patch to play the game, there is a lot of texture aliasing
-This is a stuttering test for people that have stuttering using ultra textures
-It contains a compilation of Ultra textures without mipmaps used as High textures + TheWorse mod 0.7b


How to test:

1. Unrar the file and copy patch.dat and patch.fat into your watch dogs "data_win64" folder (make a backup if you already have a modded patch file)
2. Multigpu users, disable multigpu in your drivers (remember, this is only a test). Recommended to use Adaptative Vsync too.
3. Start the game
4. In the game options menu, select your native resolution, vsync off, max rendered frames = 2
5. Select HIGH TEXTURES!!!! (NOT ULTRA, you will see ultra textures using High texture option)
6. Players with 2 GB of VRAM, set high or medium shadows and reflections.
7. Resume game. You will see a lot of texture aliasing but the stuttering should be reduced.


Share the results. If that patch improves the stuttering for a few users, I will create textures with mipmaps for those that have more texture aliasing.

Am I the only one wondering if you will be able to add the gas station explosion from E3? Really would make this game better.

 

I don't have the graphical power to run the game on the ultra preset, but high works just fine. But is is possible to change the Depth of Field in this preset? I did a little search in the settings, but couldnt find anything that could change that. My other question is if it is possible to change the anti-aliasing. the preset I use now does not seem to have any AA at all, and I would like to have at least some . Does anyone know how to change these things?

Btw all those that want the DOF/Motion Blur off

Make your gamerprofile.xml "read only"

Then when you load the game, in options, just "turn off" DOF and Motion Blur the viola, fixed, everything else works as normal .

You'll need to do it each time you load the game up, but so what? Easy fix for now .

 

Btw please credits where credits due this Screen is by Ex3cut3r from 3Dcenter i only used it as a reference to show the Render result @ this weather state which imo is pretty phenomenal worked out as a whole

Where I can change textures quality ? In game options or in XML file ?
Can I change refresh rate in game ? Vsync on or off in-game and in nvidia panel ?

Specular response is a tad to aggressive i would say

 

Game -> Options -> Display

NOTE: Texture quality option must be changed in the main menu, before playing the game.

I don't know why, but before the mod i was getting over 40, but when i installed it, im stack below 30 and sometimes even dives into the teens
