7950 is fine, and I've never seen W_D use more than about 2.5 GB RAM by itself.

 

I'm using a custom XML at the moment to make the Level of Detail setting a bit less taxing, I'll post the file settings below just in case you want them.

Texture quality - High
Level of detail - Medium (XML tweaks to keep postFX, lighting and a few other settings at Ultra - not entirely sure if it works but it's good performance)
Shadows - High
Reflections - Ultra
AO - HBAO+Low
Water - Ultra
Shader - High

Hey there I was just wonderiing I realize that this may be the wrong forum to be asking this kind of question but Is there a way to develop a mod to steer the vehicles with a mouse?the reason I am asking Is because I am a disabled gamer who has very limited dexterity In ma hands

 

I hope TheWorse will be able to find POM and enable it. That will make up for some of the textures in the game.

It's really sad to see so many effects disabled and nerfed down by Ubisoft. It's like they had this nextgen idea going on and then suddenly.

"Guys no.. This is too advanced for human kind. We must dumb it down as clearly nobody is ready for this." "Eeeyup.. he's right.. Get back to the time machine guys! We're going home!"

But deep down in the cold dark Ubisoft basement where they keep all the coders, some still lingered in thought of the nextgen game world. And so a small bunch gathered. And they in secret, left all the nice eye candy in the game, hoping that the PC modders would soon find them and begin unlocking all of its secrets.

But sadly we shouldn't have to be the ones enabling the better effects. We should be the ones improving the better effects and changing them as desired without having to dig around just so that they work x-x

So all in all, I have a ton of respect for those people like TheWorse and others who are working and modding to make the game look better and in some cases even work better.

 

Pretty much sums up ubisofts attitude to pc development.

 

This should be post on Ubisoft forum, it's unacceptable.

I figured I throw this out there for people with stuttering. If you have 8GB or more of system memory. Disabling "virtual memory" can smooth out your game since there wont be any texture swapping, caching. My game runs a lot smoother with it disabled. One more thing might help "it did me". If you have an NVidia card you can go to device manager and disable all the sound devices that are labeled with NVidia in their name. Its fine to do this if you're not running sound through a HDMI cable or have onboard sound or a separate sound card.

 

Look forward to the next version, it will be the first I try.
Just want to ask (sorry no time to read 50 pages):
I have not the best rig (lol), so when you release your mod can you maybe give a tutorial how to disable/change some "unimportant" things to achieve better performance? =)

 

Yeah.. Sucks to see stuff like this. Sums up the gaming world quite a lot. Not just Ubisoft x-x

I cannot believe that, surely they knew people would be able to open these files. I don't think they should even leave any comments in, kind of makes it look like a half-assed job.

Thanks!, playable dof and actually has dof for aiming with the weapons, I wonder if you could make one with no dof for walking camera and a strong dof (like theworse version) for aiming with the phone and the weapons?, any chance?

Strange I just tested and actually produces different dof results.
