I like how you can write an article ( i dont speak for you HH, as you refer to another article ), based on 2 little articles from swec clks + Exprevie.... Mix them and arrive to something like that and peoples comment it.

If we see an internal document of Nvidia pointing the price they want sell it, maybe we could discuss it.... if we had spec, watts, etc coming from a real sources saying it will be so really quiet.. ok.. but seriously, outside this all you have at start is possible assumption made on a forum based on the fact GM104/204 could be smaller, so cost less to product, consume less power and so be quieter than actual Kepler. (( based on what we know about actual Maxwell gpu, it is indeed easy to be right with this, but thats just it )

that one with 5.7tflops looked more powerful specification wise, also 320bit bus is not real..

One ES sample spec. list confirmed 256bit memory bus with 4gb - 8gb vram for ES testing purposes.
    I think it was posted here @ guru3d once around Feb-March 2014..

Whats with the retarded 680 being a midrange again? It was the fastest card by far when it came out!

hopefully the dickbutts create oc and neato versions out of the gate. i hate buying a graphics card and then 3 months later.. oh here's an awesome-clock version with cooling that works and we stuck on some features that make you wish you had waited another few months.

Launch 680s were cheaper than the 7970 I think world wide. Please think twice before posting :wanker:

Since when does launch MSRP matter?
    I got 1st batch of HD7970 (reference).
When 3months later GTX680 hit shops in Czech Republic, its price was higher than HD7970 at launch (what I paid).
Then AMD went down with price. People got HD7970 15-20% cheaper than gtx680.
After another 6 months AMD released driver updates which allowed those cheaper cards to same performance as GTX680.
No change in price of GTX680 as reaction to this occurred in my country.

When GTX770 came it was priced competitively enough to push HD7970 down a bit again.
Last GTX680 has still been sold at 25-30% higher price than GTX770.

    Summary:
    - You are right that launch price of HD7970 was higher than GTX680 which came 3 months later.

    - You are either wrong about real world pricing or my country as heart of Europe is actually not part of your world wide :)

    guru 7970 launch review: 499EUR / 549 USD
    " gtx680 " " : 469EUR / 500 USD

Of course it may be different from country to country, but I believe in the U.S. and UK it was as above.

Cheaper and with at least 4 GB of VRAM please...definitely won't be buying a new card with less memory than that not when games like Watch_Dogs are hitting the 3 GB limit on my GTX 780 at only 1920x1200. I will pay up to £400 for a GTX 880 but the £550 I paid for GTX 780 was too much on reflection.

At present I can get a 760 with 4GB for about 200 quid! That's just not acceptable to go up 5fps from my 660 Ti. Nvidia prices are getting out of hand, a decent 770 with 4GB is about £280, pretty much out of my budget. Been tempted with AMD but I just (not trolling) don't like what I read about their drivers. When the 8XX comes out and can get 770 performance for AROUND 200 I will send them a nice thank you card and some chocolates!
