    Running your monitor at too high a refresh rate can cut it's life but vsync should not affect it.

    Now seriously, has ANYONE seen a MONITOR actually "die"? The monitor im using now is about 5-6 years old...and it stills works just as good as the day I got it. I have heard people say that it kills your monitor, but I have NEVER seen one actually die.

    OK, VSYNC simply limits your frame rate to no more than your monitors refresh rate. In other words, if your video card is capable of pumping out 103 fps, but your refresh rate is only 75 hz, your fps will drop down to 75.

    Since your monitor is going to be drawing the screen 75 times a second whether or not VSYNC is on or off, regardless of your your actual frame rate, enabling VSYNC will have absolutely no effect on the lifetime of your monitor.
