Just received an Asus PB287Q 3840x2160 monitor and trying to set it up under Windows 8.1 Pro with 2xGTX680 under SLi.

In nvidia control panel I only get the option for 3840x2160 at 30Hz, 60 Hz is not available. It also doesn't work when I try to set a custom resolution.

I have connected the monitor to the primary 680 using the displayport cable provided with the monitor.

Any suggestions on how to get this working?!? I'm going to try a driver reinstall.

Most of these entry level monitors will only do 30hz at 4k.

Yeah, after googling it seems it'll only do 30hz at 4k.

Hmmm, Asus do claim it can do 60hz through DP. Some forums claim it only does 30hz.

BTW, this is what I found on the official Asus site, at the bottom of the monitor's spec page

maybe try another cable if you have a spare?

btw, are you setting your custom resolution with CRU? if not, give it a go.

Oddly when I use CRU to look at the monitors properties, 60Hz 3840x2160 resolution is available.

But neither nVidia control panel or windows dialog offer it.

Monitor is set to stream DP1.2 so I'm at a loss again unless it is drivers?

Which card did you plug the DP cable into? I've plugged into card closest to cpu.

EDIT: Used DDU to remove drivers and reinstall. 60Hz is now available in Control Panel and Windows but will only actually work if SLi is disabled so appears that thread I linked to earlier is correct.

Amazing first two games I tried with one GTX 680 give good frame rates.

Batman Arkham Origins was 55fps min and Titanfall was 45fps. Both max set vs with no AA.

    Hi Lebowski, Hi everybody,

I have exactly the same problem with this Asus PB287Q !

But i dont have found a solution to have 60hz in UHD : (

I have make a lot of test without result :
    - try with R9 290x beta driver and official driver (+ use DDU)
    - try with GTX 690 beta driver and official driver (+ use DDU)
    - desactive SLI on GTX 690
    - install monitor driver
    - try with an Asus G750 (GTX 770m)
    - try with an other Displayport cable
    - activate displayport 1.2 on the monitor
    - factory reset of the monitor
    - try to active 60hz with control center or windows parametre

An other question, do you have also a little strange sound sometimes when you change source on the monitor (like a sound from speaker) ?

Thanks all for your help (and sorry for my english level ^^).

    Best regards

    Agra

Both thoses monitors the Asus and the Samsung one are fresh displays who use SST ( instead of MST like previous UltraHD 4K generation ).. ( 2 scalers or something like that. Could be the reason why Nvidia still need to update their drivers ? (( or maybe even for previous version of AMD drivers ). ( Or maybe too why it work with the Samsung better for now ( as it seems they have work closely together ).

Its not for put AMD in the equation, but its the only thing i have find about thoses 2 monitors and can maybe be an explanation. And im pretty sure Nvidia is working on this too, so just maybe some trouble driver related with this Single stream ressource on the Asus one. If Asus have change something on last minute, driver maybe need some adjustement.

yeah, they use SST, but that's still ****ty that you have to wait for 60hz support.

Imo, I wouldn't bother personally, 4k has a year or 2 to mature at least before it becomes a viable, trouble free option. Also, hardly anyone has enough gpu power to run 4k at 60fps+ maxed out.

I had an asus delivered today and have exactly the same problem. Not much point of gaming at 30hz unless you enjoy slide shows. Bit disappointing, who knows how long it will take the the drivers to catch up... That said e monitor also exhibits pretty horrid back light uniformity and bleed, oh well, at least I can still return it!

Yes, I get the sound when u change monitor source.

They are some drivers and a colour profile on asus support website which I found helped.

I got 60Hz working on a single card setup by using ddu to remove all trace of drivers and the reinstalling the nvidia drivers excluding GeForce experience. It works ok. Only need new driver to get sli working properly so I can get better frame rates, which are ok but not great with one card. Hope that helps but let me know if I can help further.

Sorry for delay in answer was in hospital unexpectedly.

Sorry to hear your monitor suffers from those issues. Mine appears to be fine so maybe it is a one off? You could ask for a replacement.
