except these screens are not recent, i believe they were released circa e3 2013, with the exception of the last one.

Its all about the angles and how you look at parallax mapping. Those screens just had the right angles..

 

well, i don't know if its because the surface is wet, but to me, it looks more flat. I mean, if you're talking about this part:

Correct, they're not recent. Steams screenshots are just as unreliable, as steams gets its screenshots from the dev. Steams doesnt go out of its way to provide genuine ingame screenshots.

 

I hope POM has not been removed entirely from the game. No POM at all on the latest Nvidia trailer.
It's just a detail mais given how demanding the game is it's only natural to have reasonably high expectations in that regard.

 

Impressive, water looks awesome. The framerate is quite bad though, I hope it's an issue video related.

EDIT: I thought it was a new video. It's 8 months old instead.

 

This anti-ubisoft circlejerk is getting old. Yes the previous trailer looked like ****, yes the newer trailer looks better, and those screens look promising. Stop with the 'BUT IN AC!!!!1' please, it's rather pathetic.

Well, if you think those screens are to be trusted, or any coming directly from ubisoft, and the game will end up looking just like that, then you are free to make a fool of yourself.

It's not about anti-ubisoft, but rather anti-bull****.

 

Ubisoft sucks.

There, I skipped the "circlejerk" and just jumped to the end line.
It's true, they do. But, that doesn't mean they don't deliver some great games.

Looks good enough to me but I would be impressed if the final game actually looks like that.

 

You're giving Ubisoft too much credit. I fully expect this game to look nothing like what's already been shown.

 

Well AC IV looked exactly as advertised, so why not Watch Dogs?

 

I'm so thrilled for this game. I've forgiven Skyrim its shadow popups, blocky distance details and laggy interior fog, and i will forgive WatchDogs as well. Gameplay is what counts after all.

 

If you think that looks average I think you should probably prepare yourself for disappointment

 

looks pretty good to me, i cant wait for this to be honest been awhile since we had a new open world game in a city to explore, and its not the usual new york setting.

 

I think it looks pretty good. I'm still looking forward to this game. People have such high expectations these days when it comes to graphics... and as usual there will be some who are never happy!

 

I'm assuming that's sarcasm as in no way is that screenshot average.

No way of knowing for sure until we see it ourselves but considering previous Ubisoft games like ACIV ended up looking like the marketing shots there is nothing to suggest the game won't look like that.
If anything the images I saw in the screenshot thread looked better than anything Ubi or Nvidia released.
