Windows 8 seems to handle the games better 30fps on both OS windows 8 feels smoother

I had the same hardware with windows 7 when I installed windows 8 it was like I had added faster hardware everything snappier quicker and boot time wow much better

I can be using my PC faster than my wife on her ipad retina when we both press on at the same time

 

I see that you, janne907 and me have an i7 and it fails to start in the hardware device, I'm not at home to try it but, do you have Hyper Threading disabled in your BIOS ?

I disabled it a few days ago to run some tests, maybe it can be a cause, as it's one of the main differences between i5 and i7, for now that's the only thing I can try after all this reboots and driver install/uninstall.

I'll re-enable the CPU's HT when I get home and try to install 337.50 again and see if Windows still stops the cards.

@Wagnard : I already tried with DDU too, no change.

 

Battlefield 4 runs better on Win8/8.1.

But Microsoft ruined old games compatibility in Windows 8 - Those that use DirectDraw like Desperados : Wanted Dead Or Alive.

I wanna play the game, but i can't and i am too lazy to make dual boot.

2xgtx780 sli
win7 64 bit.

Min fps 20fps more,
Sleeping dogs 10 fps more at the min fps.

Crysis 15 fps more at the min fps

With a big oc on my cpu is this impressive, better than Mantle?

 

I have a 8% improvement in AC4 and DayZ versus 334 drivers.

 

goddammit Nvidia you had one ****ing job...

 

So i take you will only see any real benefits with this driver if you are on windows 8?

 

That's what I've been waiting to hear I will post before and after of AC4 when I get home both systems.

 

Small boost in Tera and Guild Wars 2 , tera still has ****ty fps but its because of the game, but it does feel smoother even at low fps(20-25) , Diablo 3 for some reason looks sharper for me.

 

Even I can hold my hands up and say for once that Nvidia seems to have done the right thing.

AMD's Mantle is great and all, but the game has to support it. Nvidia chose to focus their efforts on current DX and future DX titles. Excellent move, and a nice "in your face" to AMD.

Now all we need is AMD to do the same and release a DX performance driver.

Mantle requires game developer work so only certain games improved this is driver improvement so a lot better as lots of games improved much better than mantle makes me wonder what DX12 will do.

How would a stress test "give a boost to about everyone regardless of configuration"?

 

Anyone noticed that the new driver comes with a ambient occlusion flag for titanfall.
The patch for titanfall doesn´t come out yet. weird.

 

I did, but one thing I have noticed is after installation, there was a window box in the lower left corner, near my taskbar that was just blank with a header. I will try DDU as I only used the clean install option in the Nvidia Installer.

 

Stress test ? Really ?

 

Same here. Would very much like to be able to play that game without having to use D3DO (and also unOCed but i fear that's too much to ask for).
