Hi guys I'm having a hard time to choose one of the GTX 660 cards. I'm inclined to choose one of these: MSI GeForce GTX 660 (N660 Gaming 2GD5/OC) and Asus GeForce GTX 660 (GTX660-DC2-2GD5) I know there's also a Gigabyte one but I think this two are better, right? I saw here in the reviews that the MSI is cooler, but the Asus is a little bit faster. I know that my PC isn't good enough to take full advantage of this graphics card but I have intentions of getting some new parts (CPU, RAM and motherboard) soon. I don't care about the faster one what I care about most is the durability of the card. It has to last the maximum time possible. And sorry for my bad English xD Thanks
I'm from Lisboa, Portugal. My budget is 175€ All GTX 660's cust around 160~170 so I think this is the best that I can buy.
I owned a galaxy, a pny, and an evga 660 (in that order). I singled the galaxy until I could afford the pny and sli'd them. The pny died after 8 months, so I replaced with the eVga and sli'd it with the galaxy. Different factory speeds resulted in extremely little difference in fps between any of the cards (the pny was crap for overclocking). The eVga had the most headroom for overclocking. If I had a choice of any brand to get, it would be eVga just for their warranty.
Here: alientech.pt must_kill_ati The only cards I can find here for sell are from Gigabyte, MSI and ASUS. There is also EVGA but is 207€. It's out of budget xD
Either the Asus or MSI would be fine. These cards all have the same overclocking limit anyway, so it makes little difference which you pick. I've got 2 eVGA 660SC's....both with different factory OC's and they can both be overclocked to the same limit. The newer one just looks like a poor clocker because it's factory OC is higher, so it reaches that same limit at a lower offset.
in here the MSI 660 is the cheapest compare to ASUS, Gigabyte & EVGA. I have the Twin Frozr III version though, the performance is great for its price.
I have Asus GeForce GTX 660 (GTX660-DC2-2GD5), it's pretty quiet at load, inaudible at idle/low power states and runs quite cool even in a cramped case, never goes past 60C even at prolonged full load states... It's pretty massive(all of them) so keep that in mind, mine barely fits the case lol
