Is it still worth using something like this in Windows 8? Or does it mess up more than it helps when doing a registry clean up? I personally never had problems using it on Win 7 to have a clean.
CCleaner here too never got a problem using it in Win8.1 and like the guys said, never use the "registry cleaner", only use the "files cleaner"
I've used it and registry cleaning option too. I do look the results first but it is rather well done and chances are minimal that it will fack up the registry. It mostly just deletes unused extension files, missing application paths, old firewall rules (missing application) and other temp stuff basically.
What about the likes of Spywareblaster? I have used it before. I'm guessing it's affective by changing your hosts file? Worth redownloading?
Thanks guys. I suppose the reason is that this is a fresh install and I don't want to put to many things on that might muck up my installation. My last install was 2009 with Win 7 64bit. I tried all sorts of things to programs like these right through to altering you internet settings. Things really started going wrong about then!
