Catalyst 14.2 Beta is all about Thief

 

The game has probably the best GFX that were ever seen in a game. For me, it surprasses Crysis 3 / Far Cry 3. And the engine is so light (UE 3.5) that even with a simple 270x I can enjoy the game with everything maxed.

Still, dont know what people were expecting. You are a thief so you have to be hidding, stealing... It´s a very slow paced game.

Don´t play this game expecting loads of action.

 

Thats the problem with newer CoD gamer generation, they want the fast paced action and run n gun. They are not used to slow paced games, where you have to take your time and you cant just run and, kill everything that moves.

how the game? i kinda realized it sucks hard time, just wanted make sure from all of u that played

 

Well for me the game dont suck, i enjoy it. Its a great change from all the fast paced crap, that comes out today. If you like slow paced games, where you cant just run and kill stuff, where you have to play slow and be cerefull, you will probabley like this game aswell. Tho its not as good as previeous thief game series, but still its a good slow paced stealth game.

Are you kidding me?¿?¿?¿?:3eyes: ...they have even forgot to make the shadows of the own bonfires and its movement (its FIRE so...) which is really dumb and obvious, textures are pure ****, ilumination is every single time exactly the same, models are very low poly most of the time specially when zoomed in (safes are awfull in texture and shape knowing that they would be used so many times for example), etc...so for me as a graphics whore is a complete dissapointment...glad you are enjoying it, but cmon, better than crysis 3, best graphics game EVER ??? :heh::roll::funny:

Other than that, game is nice..

 

Just gave in and watched 4 gameplay videos from the beginning of the game. Last chance to cancel my preorder just in case i wouldnt like what i see.

Well, it was great to watch. Preorder stays. I can see myself having lots of fun playing this without any focus & on hardest difficulty.

 

no demo? why? i played Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 demo and loved it. and preloaded already.

so guys is this Thief like Dishonored in open city? Fps view and gadgets etc.

 

FPS view yes, gadgets well not really, except various types of arrows, for example: standart broadhead arrows, explosive arrows, watter arrows that you use to extinguish lights, flame arrows and few others. The game has (as far as i am avare) one big hub city, wich you can explore and roam around, and find hidden places and enter few buildings, to steal everything that is not nailed down, and to get to npc vendors and to get some secondary quests. The main missions is in their own locations. There is multiple ways to aproach your objectives, multiple paths in each level, the same way as in deus ex human revolution. This game is a lot slower than dishonored, killing everyone like in dishonored isnt really a viable option, since you are very weak, you can bereley kill two guards at the same time, if there is more, you are dead.

 

I meant positive features as opposed to negative ones. I wasn't referring to the reviews. Still going to wait for a good sale because I'm cheap about certain types of games. If it's not something that'll definitely give me over a hundred hours of gameplay I don't buy at full price.

btw, for those that have it, I haven't watched too much gameplay yet, so I wanted to know if you are able to move and hide bodies?

It's a game COD fans don't like, sounds good to me.

And, despite what you may think... 7... is still a good review score.
Also, you do realize review scores are not a factual bottom line about a game's quality... right?
They are just that person's opinion. They are not an end all definitive standard, but... a guide.

And hell, I find I enjoy more games released these days that get 6s and 7s then what most review sites feel like giving 9s.
