AMD Mantle will benefit Lower-End CPUs, not mainstream and high-end PCs.

bf4 mantle boost is for 290 and 290x only currently.

i wonder what is the diference between win7 and win8.1, since win8.1 should be little lighter on cpu too right ? Hope we will se some tests soon.

no, win 8.1 is more heavy on cpu imo.
    has better utilization.

so you guys are confident it's basically across the board then and not just 290 /290x cause that would suck massive.
*oh wait I need me a 290x now, where's the credit card, honey? ..

*I seen the battlelog link before but missed the 7970.

    •CPU-limited scenario: 40.9% (1080p) and 40.1% (1600p) performance improvement under Ultra settings and 4xAA on the AMD A10-7700K with an AMD Radeon™ R9 290X.

Who in his right mind has this setup :bang:.
I want to see the benefits in a more balanced setup, like A10-7700K and a R7-260.

    •Average uplift for 1080p: 13.28% (Average of 290X and 260X data on the i7-4960X, A10-7700K, FX 8350 and i5-4670K)
    •Average uplift for 1600p: 11.35% (Average of 290X and 260X data on the i7-4960X, A10-7700K, FX 8350 and i5-4670K)

I find this very misleading. All those average of the average of something of the mix or more things, fps or percentage?

below 15%? well we all kinda knew that those 40% are very overestimated, but less than 15% on a strong rig? And that will only happen once they have stable drivers and implementation in games will be proper? pathetic, now I know it's free but all the hype around it.. Guess AMD spend too much time around EA who love to release a turd and then let customers complain only to start polishing it afterwards. Something tells me there are gonna be massive driver issues for AMD users in the near future. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.Time will tell...and I was really thinking of buying AMD as my next upgrade :puke2:

It will for sure benefict high end CPUs.

In a few years when they become low end :D

Yeah that A10 is in there just to muddy the results. It looks like people will get an increase but not a huge one. Don't want to say I told you so but you know it's coming.

So from what i´ve understood the biggest gains happen on low end cpu´s while the high end benefits are lower than 10%, right???

Well it´s good news for those who have low end rigs( 90% of gamers, let´s remember this fact) and it´s gonna help sell AMD´s APUs, so i think AMD did well this time.
    Kudos for them!

Now Hilbert it´s up to you to confirm this points with a nice in depth review, i´ll be waiting for it!!!

I'm not sure the extra performance is worth the extra cost for devs to implement mantle.

And mantle becomes just another over-hyped thing. "You will get up to 40% performance boost in games" .... "Oh but we forgot, that's only for low end cpu's and OUR apu's". Why did they wait till the last days to release this information? Because they knew how (above average) gamers would react. Yes any increase is good, but all the hype about it being so awesome ( almost "the new best thing") was just a big fail. And now after finally seeing g-sync in action myself i can say that i would take it over mantle anytime (yes, it needs an investment, but it does work quite well). All i was reading about mantle in the last few months was: "We delayed Mantle AGAIN"
And using an apu with a high end gpu .... I lol'ed

at this point mantle = 290 /290x. just how well it performs though is anyone's guess.
