    Thought you had me blocked?

And the fur in Cod:Ghost is direct compute not Cuda.

    Pro Tip: READ THE OP!!!!

Wait I'm sorry it's not made by AMD it's crap forgot.

BTW I did not imply the fur in Ghost looks good.

that Dog fur in COD is using physx library for DC calculations, that's why its available only on nv gpu and only when you enable HW physx.

I mentioned proper hair nvidia demo from 2010, look again this is normal DC with tessellation on top

and still nothing in a game.. at least we saw tressFx1.0 in action

The next closest thing will be Witcher3 - Wolf fur looked great with proper hair.. I wonder how it will run, tech demo looked demanding

Are you actually being serious right now?
Did you bother to read the article at all?
CoD's using HairWorks, it's available to AMD users as well.
For 500K strands of hair, it runs great.

His behaviour's typical. After 4-5 accounts you'd think he'd stop.

Careful, every time you present facts you're automatically a fanboy.

How come dude? I feel the same way. AAA titles are so wrong for many reasons which is why I mostly play Indie titles now.

Indie titles feel like the REAL games now. When I was younger and used to play ZX Spectrum, C64, Amiga etc these were games worth playing for a number of reasons and indie titles feel like the real continuation from those.

Well, I don't have a spare AMD based PC to check it myself, but I just asked a HairWorks dev (actually, two of them) if there is something blocking AMD users from using it in COD: Ghosts, and the responce was "it will run on AMD, too"

Not commenting on the tech directly although if they can implement it with minimal performance hit, its a welcome addition.

I just think that the GSD looks better with Fur-off although I'm sure that's because how GSD's fur is IRL.

If they used a Caucasian Shepherd Dog the effect it would be more pronounced(and better). Yes I know they were showing the tech inside a game which is why they used the German Shepherd. :p

The wolf(s) actually looks quite better. It adds a little of realism to them and realism sometimes helps immersion and that's usually a good thing.. ;)

As I said, IF minimal performance hit then Hello! If not, then its Hell NO!! :D

right physx - Apex library.. basically the same thing

If it ran ok then I wouldn't mind, but it doesn't and lets be honest staring at dogs ass to checkout "tail fur/hair" or staring at some nice girl's head, no brainer :p

Will see what Witcher3 brings to the table.

On many levels that AAA is horrible thing. I don't consider big budget game AAA if it fails as a game. To me fun enjoyable game is pretty much what game should be not how much money was wasted on it. That's why I pretty much just hate AAA branding on games, it does not equal quality in the slightest.

its time for you to wake up, PhysX has been affecting gameplay for many years now. it can do just about everything you would expect from a physics middleware, and more.
it works on all platforms and there are more developers using it than any other competitive physics middleware. 460~ released games already made better thanks to PhysX. plenty more to come.

game mechanics and general physics are naturally handled by the CPU.
then it must be the GPU Advanced PhysX effects you're on about. these are additions meant to visually enhance the game from start, and are obviously better suited to utilize GPU.
so let me get this straight, you want the extra visual effects (emitted particles / fur / cloths etc.) to somehow change gameplay, forcing it on to all setups (inc. low end) ?
is this why you think GPU PhysX should be enabled on Radeons or completely dropped ? no. its just the regular whine of a Radeon user not being able to max his graphics with unsupported features.

or folks unable to even run the game with it enabled with their less that adequate card.
or hell nowadays you don't even need to play it to give an opinion, if it's NVidia it's crap, if amd then there's hope.
try compare amd threads in front page to NVidia ones for ex.
everyone loves mantle and will go to the ends of the earth for it, cause mantle is the best thing since sliced bread, never used it but it's still the best, without a doubt.
when mantle arrives it's bye bye nvidias finally, money grabbin basterds that they are.

SLI actually has a really good point there.... Before anyone starts shooting, just give the words in bold some thought first... ;)
