That card looks nice. Are you benching inside a case or is it open air? The temps look really good.

That is promising. I have the same case. Do you have the side mesh panel, or are you running with the window side panel.

Just window. I have 2* 200mm fans front and top and a 120 at the back. All of them have been changed from the stock ones that come with it as they are quite rubbish tbh.

I agree about the fans I have changed mine also. With my mesh panel and 200mm fan on the side I should be good for a crossfire setup then. Thanks for the info.

How would this card compare to the 290 Tri-X version? I was going to get the tri-x but it appears that its too long for my case :(

Out of the box they will both be pretty much the same.

If you plan on overclocking then the tri x might have the edge although the msi cooler seems pretty awesome so far.

yes it is smaller in length it is just a tiny bit bigger than a reference 290(x)

Me too and no problems so far :) great card and imo these should of been released instead of the poor stock cards.

well.. no not really. You probably mean all msi's recent gaming series look similar but even then they are not the same :)

Nope not a single black screen and I've had 2 days of benching, mining, OCíng and gaming including bf4.

I'm super happy with the card :)

I installed this exact same model today (yet to update sig). I forgot to download the latest drivers from AMD prior to removing my former GPU (GTX 760 4GB), so I just installed the ones off the disc (13.11). Well, basically I spent the next 4 hours tearing apart 2 different computers and switching parts around, trying to figure out why it would not get past the Windows 8 logo. Both of my screens and my keyboard would just flicker, as if the backlight was coming on and off every second. Interestingly enough, pulling out the R9 290 and putting it in my wife's PC (HD 6870 on 13.9 drivers) would work perfectly with no tinkering or anything. After hours of this, I remembered that there were allot of people with r9 290s that had black screens at random times, so I checked for a newer driver, downloaded and installed... and it worked.

So, after rambling on and on, I was wondering if you had any black screens when trying to load Windows? I have read hundreds of posts of people having black screens while gaming, but only a couple that have had black screen issues when loading windows.

I'll post back here with some benchmarks once I'm sure it's stable....
