Hmm, looks like a decent version considering it came from a handheld.

Look ok to you Jonas? Seems sharper and more like a proper game than say something like Resident Evil Revelations.

If it had been PC only (From the PS Vita) it would probably have been a near direct port but it was also released for the X360 and PS3, maybe even the PS4 and XBox1 will get it?

From what I know the Vita version ran on a modified version of Anvil Next after Assassin's Creed 3, this appears to be running on a further updated build after AC4 (I can't tell for sure though but it's Anvil Next at least and the config file is called Assassins4.ini same as AC4 - C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Assassin's Creed Liberation HD\ - enabled something called PostFX in it but it probably didn't do anything, nothing else to tweak aside from that.)

The developers also revamped many of the areas (As several promo comparison shots clearly show.) and I think it was also stated that some new missions were added to flesh out the game a bit.

Controls seem to work just fine and appears to be near identical to AC3 or AC4 so far and gameplay is also very similar although now you have three preset "persona" outfits so you can either dress as a slave, noblewoman or assassin each with it's own wanted level and other perks and drawbacks.

Optimization seems great so far, lowest framerate I've had was 57 FPS and the highest is what I've capped it at via Radeon Pro which is 59 but it would probably go above 60 if I disabled that unless it uses the same 62 FPS software lock like AC4 does?
(Need to experiment with AA as well, I now believe it's a FXAA plus MSAA combo with AA at low being FXAA low, AA at medium being FXAA high and AA at high being FXAA high plus MSAA 2x or 4x and finally AA at V.High would be 4x or 8x with FXAA high.)

Visually I would say it's a bit in between the AC3 and AC4 games, doesn't have all the advanced features from Black Flag but it's a bit above the third game, LOD might be a bit worse than either of them though.
(Might explain the better framerate really, I didn't think of that.)

Unsure about scripts (Cheat-Engine) and such hacks (Trainers) but possibly they could be re-adapted for this game to get a free camera functionality, downsampling shouldn't be a issue either but I can't try it myself.

(And once again non-16:9 aspect ratios get those black bars but I'm not too concerned about them but of course it would be best if the game was scaling better.)

    EDIT: Ini file.
    .
(PostFX is the only thing I enabled whatever post-processing effects it might do if anything, now that I look at it closer those wanting to might also be able to toggle off SSAO, motion blur and such by disabling them in this config file.)

    EDIT: Some more screenshots.

(And thus it seems AA is definitively a combination between FXAA and MSAA, there's a noticeable performance hit with MSAA once again but it does help remove aliasing.)

Playing in 1920x180 with everything to max, DX11, TXAA 2x average is about 35-40fps.

Same settings in 3840x2160 drops to about 20fps.

If I change to DX9 (I believe this turns off the auto tessellation with 11) and a basic AA setting (1920x1080 res) it's constant 60fps.

    Really impressive engine Cryengine 3.

Doesn't look all shiny and fancy like you'd expect from the engine, but given the massive open worlds with pretty much no loading, hundreds of players/npc's on screen at once etc... it's a good achievement to still look as nice as it does.

It's fancy enough, definitely one of the most beautiful MMOs around. Hopefully I will be able to run it ok on my laptop with normal AA methods once I get my hands on the game.

Some more pics in the meantime ;)

The first pics reminds me of something out of LOTR. And the last one is my new desktop :)
