Hmm what dd Hilbert say to me... oh yeah, deep breaths and count to 3...OK, 1-2 -3.

RPG wtf are u on about?
In the last 6-7 years I've had a grand total of 4 infractions, and never once been banned - however I have hastened the departures of a few obnoxious people such as yourself.

Please stop being rude and go away as u have nothing constructive to offer here.

Sorry, you are posting nonsenses as image does not show real world performance for dual GPU cards like HD7990/GTX690.
It's clearly stated that only one GPU on those cards is in use therefore it's scenario where SLI/CFX would have 0% benefit (disabled).

    http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_780_ti_gaming_review,19.html

    stock 7990 vs stock 780ti. 115fps vs 92fps

    another one here http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Palit/GTX_780_Ti_Jet_Stream/20.html 1080p 4xAA 74.1 vs 57.3

    shall I continue?

Do you have a link to that list you posted? I can't believe you are doubting that a 7990 wipes the floor with the 780ti. again, I'm referring to a 7990 because it's pretty close to 7970 cfx setup, albeit a little bit slower, in fact.

now you're comparing dual titans/780ti vs dual? 7990? we all know scaling goes tits up after 2 gpus. the fact remains dual 7970 will wipe the floor with 780ti. fact.

Even from that, dual 7970 is pretty much on par with dual 780 and we all know that dual 780>>>>single 780ti. so there, you just proved me right :)

I am sorry for you seriously. You are so lost.
In this image there is comparison of 2x Single GPU cards vs 1x dual GPU card therefore it does not show what matters:
Single PCB 7990 with CFX enabled vs Single PCB GTX780Ti. Because that is scenario OP has in mind.

yup eclap 2 7970 cards vs one ti you are right, but lets admit its marginal,
single card always works better then dual.

well... depends. If the op is running 1080p at 60hz, 780ti would be plenty, hell, even a single 7970 will push enough frames 90% of the time in that res/fps. If he is by any chance running 1440p and 120hz, he'll need every bit of performance he can get.

Bottom line, I would not pay £230 for a sizeable downgrade. I would maybe bet a sidegrade if it didn't cost me anything, maybe even a small downgrade, but I wouldn't pay £230 for it.

i feel out numbered with amd users here, no worries though its all in the love of tech,

don't feel sorry for me i am a happy chappy, not here to bust anyone's balls, i just thought i would share dual of each physical card but i also posted single gpu results, if you compare them together you would see i have admitted that the 7970 is obviously stronger in cf vs a single ti (but its marginal) as at the beginning of the thread i was in a hays of misunderstanding,
lets all not forget though that not all games support dual gpu's (this in turn comes with its flaws unfortunately)

OK, but to be helpful to OP one has to 1st understand what he wants and offtopics should still be in form which provides value.
Yes 7970 SLI is only about 15-30% stronger than single 780Ti based on game/bench.

Edit: And considering OP would have to pay enough money to get 3rd 7970 it's like giving that 3rd card away for free.

in games that utilise both gpu's yes, but i am trying to make the op aware of what would happen if a specific title supported single gpu.
op would clearly have to wait for cf profiles etc on some titles at launch,
and here is were a single gtx 780ti would defiantly save the day and still be a top performer.

I personally do not know many games where CFX/SLI does not work at all.
You may enlighten us with names, maybe add how much fps they do on single 7970 as some indie games may not support CFX/SLI, but those are developed to run perfectly on mainstream HW anyway.
