Nobody really knows what Division will look like when it's finally released. Same as TW3. We can only speculate based on prerelease media which should never be trusted :p

Halve the frame rate? I have most PhysX games, and in none of them are my frame rates halved by turning it on....even on the max setting.

If your frame rate is being halved, it's because your machine isn't powerful enough to run at that setting, so lowering it would be advisable.

As it stands, PhysX is actually very optimized. The only reason it gets a bad rap for optimization is because Ageia, the company that made PhysX, never optimized it to run on CPUs as they wanted people to buy their PPUs.

With PhysX 3.xx though, NVidia has optimized PhysX with SIMD and multithreading so that it not only runs great on GPUs, but CPUs as well..

I have no doubt that PhysX will perform well in the Witcher 3, as it's using the latest SDK..

Hot diggity, but that does look nice. I'm hoping to have a 5760 x 1080 setup by the time this comes out... we'll see if a second HD 7970 will be enough powah for it. :nerd: :nerd: :nerd:

Question from a noob like me. Is it possible to play The Witcher 3 without having played the previous two?

Thanks and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this one! :)

    Yes, but it is recommended?

    NO!

I really dont understand people who think or feel this way, if you are "looking forward" to play this one, why dont the other games appeal to you?

Is not like they are games from 1982, they are amazing story wise, gameplay wise and with beautiful graphics.

Well, let's take for example that level in Batman Arkham Origins where you fight Deathstroke. On every forum I read about people having huge drops there due to physx, including those with hardware far exceeding mine. The general consensus is that physx tends to affect fps more than it should for what it does.
I do hope the updated SDK will bring a better performance, though. The technology itself is very nice.

Will try to play the other ones.

You cant do wrong playing Witcher 1 and 2. For me, its a must play when you want to play 3. Story wise 1 is better than 2.

I'm glad they did, Physx is awesome.

Technically it looks much, much better than what I've seen of TW3.

Honestly, I'm playing the Enhanced Edition and I find the combat pretty crummy. With games like Diablo 3, Black Flag, Batman, God of War all offering different styles of silky smooth combat, I find Witcher 2's pretty clunky.

I don't think that it's clunky by design in the way that Dark Souls forced you to commit to a move. I just think it's clunky.

I'm looking forward to being done with it.

You must be playing a very different Black Flag to what I currently am then as the combat is far and away as clunky as can be 90% of the time and is a huge step back compared to AC3's. The Witcher 2's combat system was dream like by direct comparison and flowed like continuously connecting dance steps combined with character movement as true combat should...
