On my main PC I've had lots of random (while in games, or simply talking on skype+browsing in chrome) BSODS, I've analyzed the minidumps and it's almost always ntoskrnl.exe followed by win32k.sys and dxgmms1.sys. Also, when I shut down my PC, my USB ports are still powered on and my keyboard and mouse lights are on all the time. Plus sometimes my music will slow down and skip. Oh and another thing, I have really high DPC latency as well, but I'm not sure if it's caused by Windows 8.
    I'm guessing motherboard or ram?

My second PC died some time ago, it wouldn't post so I opened it up and noticed that the GPU fan wasn't spinning and there was a red light lit up on the card (4850). So naturally I just thought it was the GPU so I went and got a 6450 passive card, but it's still not posting.
I tried each stick of ram separately in each ram slot, but that didn't help, I also tried both PCIe slots for the GPU, but still nothing (the new card is working on my main PC without problems).
The motherboard is an ASUS Crosshair and should at least be really high quality, and it was never overclocked so I kinda doubt it's done.
I've also cleared the CMOS, and I don't know what errors I get since the LCD display on the back is not working.

Any help on any of my issues would be appreciated.

PC 1 seems to have some software issues. the files are either missing or corrupt, which you can find good guides on google to repair. or just format and reinstall windows and start fresh.
PC2 could just be the motherboard is dead, I have had topend motherboards die on me before cheapo boards.

If you upload the dumps from PC #1 I'll take a look.

Regarding PC #2 is it not completing post or not booting at all?

    Thanks guys for your answers.
On PC1 I've had issues for long, I've reinstalled windows at least 2 times, and I even bought a SSD because why not and I was suspecting my HDD dying.
    So I'm 99% certain it's not a software issue.
I used to have all latencies in the red before moving to my SSD.
And it seems I just accidentally deleted my minidumps with CCleaner... I'll post one as soon as I get a BSOD.

So PC2 is probably motherboard? Is there anyway I can confirm this?
It's not even posting it's just turning on and then fans are spinning 100%, nothings happening.
Btw, should I use minidumps or complete dumps?

Might be mobo vrm or might be PSU, swap it with your other one and see...what are the exact specs?

About the minidump just upload small dump....could be something in Event Log or WER too.

My main PCs specs are in my profile.
    PC2: Asus Crosshair, ATI 6450, 2gb kingston ddr2, Athlon x2 2800 I believe.
Are there any good stress tests that load the whole system to get it to crash?

Better to let it crash by itself....

    What about the PSU?

Sure - if you have a load tester and/or multimeter handy. lol

    Google "PSU paper clip".

You said there was a red light lit up on the gpu on your second pc in your OP. That tells me your not getting enough power to the card if that light is on.

The PSU was turning on normally on my second PC anyway.
But I decided to hook it up to my main pc and it's working fine, even has enough juice for my 5870.

    Edit:
I just remembered that I've had lots of GW2 crashes lately (like every 4 hours or so at random).

Seems that way looking at the access violations, plus you're using 6GB of memory which isn't helping either since only 4GB RAM is installed.

Just run memtestHCI or memtest86 (or both)......

I'll run memtest overnight. But why am I using 6GB if I only have 4GB
Also, can music skipping/slowing down be caused by fault ram? Also the odd USB power issue sounds like the motherboard to me or no?

Alright... I ran the test for maybe 5 minutes (HCI one), and I got over 50 errors (I ran 4 instances like the instructions tell you to).
    :s
Could the usb power issue and music skipping/lagging be due to ram?

Well the only times I've seen USB ports freak out is after the NB or RAM was OC'd too high, so yes, and I think you know the answer to the 2nd part.

    Edit:
I just noticed your specs: OCZ RAM - says it all really. Hope u can still RMA.

I know right... I'll never get anything OCZ anymore, I've had issues with these POS sticks from the start. Too bad ram is really expensive atm, it's like 2x the price it was 6-12 months ago.

What about PC2 though, I don't have a second AM2/ddr2 motherboard to test the CPU or ram to make sure it's the mobo.

It'll be the mobo for sure, I've seen quite a few of those nForce boards die. After nF4 Nvidia went completely downhill.

I'll take your wird for it.
I guess there isn't much to recommend but if you have any I'd appreciate it.
ASROCK N68C-GS FX something like this? Couldn't find other am2 ddr2 boards.

You should contact ASUS first, ROG boards have 5yr warranty, not sure if that applies specifically to your board though.

Stick with ASUS but go AMD chipset, not Nvidia.

What CPU do u have again?
