FBI can access people's webcams without trigging the on light

Average Joe is safe and shouldn't worry unless you're a hot female that likes to walk/dance/whatever half/naked in front of your cam.

I doubt it'll be worth their while breaking in to gain access to random machines, they need a suspect or a target before go waist their time, but you never know as each perv has their own preference and that might be anyone so yeah.

Doesn't that make phones or any other connected device just as vulnerable?

 

Disable the camera in BIOS so that it doesn't even appear in Device Manager -> Problem solved.

 

My camera is disconnected all the time, i just don't use it. But if they like seeing me having sex with my gf, i don't really mind, but it only applies when my camera is connected (almost never).

how is this news? hackers could do this for long time. There is reason why I dont have my camare hooked up unless it is to be used, and why i dont do laptops

I plan on getting a new desktop webcam anyways, maybe the next one, i'll just pop it open and hardwire a tiny power switch that cuts off the usb power.

Sorry, but anyone doing facebook and co, and/or installs more than a banking app on a smart device, should not complain about the gov spying.
"Your" giving away personal information for free, just so "you" can play a stupid game (example), but you complain if the Nsa gets the info without you knowing...
I dont do anything that is of interest to any of the big 3 that spy, so keep goin....
