If someone does get it to work on an Nvidia system can they please post which driver(s) they used?

 

You mean without any bugs? Good luck with that.
It works regardless of the driver version. Just not well, also regardless of driver version.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if NVidia is trying to stop Virtu from working with their cards.

Maybe. That would be more believable if it was actually hard to do better then MVP. But there is already a lot of room for improvement. Do AMD cards work better with it or something?

 

I've had fewer issues with AMD cards and MVP, but I wouldn't say they necessarily work "better with it" (except in my particular case). I tried MVP with my GTX560Ti, GTX660 and HD7870. Only my 560Ti and 660 had any issues with MVP. Haven't tried with my 7950 yet but may give it a shot when they finally update the OEM driver for Win8.1.

Interesting point this, Virtual Vysnc basically does the same thing...providing fps is above 60 that is.
Whereas g-sync will work all the way down to 25fps for no tearing

 

Except that "G-sync" is specific to NVidia graphics cards and Virtual V-Sync isn't....

 

Thanks a lot slickric21, this is the exact combination I tried.

Even if you have SLI disabled, Virtu detects 2 Nvidia cards in the system and cannot be enabled.

You have to physically remove the card from the case.

 

What makes you think he's using SLi?

 

He mention running 580 SLI in his sig unless he forgot to update his sig, Also mvp wont work even if your running two separate video cards models and company. It's the way they program it and seem to program it to look for one video card, if more is seen it wont enable. Maybe if they improve on the code for it, or did it better, then maybe people would've been able to do it in SLI too. Would be neat if they did improve the code for it. But I doubt they will ever do it.

 

LucidLogix actually states that Virtu won't work with multi-GPU configurations by design. It's in the FAQs for Virtu.

 

I wonder why they designed it like that.

 

Here's the answer, according to the FAQ page for Virtu....

If that is in deed the case, there's nothing LucidLogix can do to make Virtu function properly with multi-GPU setups. I don't see why they couldn't enable a "limited function" mode where Virtual V-Sync would still function.

Unsupported systems such as? If there's no iGPU, the software can't work. In multi-GPU configurations, there's no point in the software.

Aside from those 2 limitations, as long as supported hardware is there, you can purchase a license yourself.

VirtuMVP isn't freeware. It requires a valid license. Those of us running OEM releases of the software, paid for the license when we bought our motherboards.

My mobo doesnt have any oem licence attached, it was quite expensive and to miss such parts is a bit disappointing.
