Doesn't really matter much for this game since both AMD and Nvidia have their respective modes for anti-aliasing which is quite nice, and probably a first.

You get FXAA, SMAA, MSAA (+FXAA I believe) and then EQAA for AMD and TXAA for Nvidia I believe.
(Unsure about TXAA but EQAA probably also uses FXAA thus the slight picture blur.)

yeah but i dont have any problem with my 760 ;) (and its my nas and not a gaming station :S)

i havent said that his card is cheap... but the card is cheaper than the same powerful nvidia card...

whats better is matter of opinion...

i dont have problems with any game (also cod ghosts... but the game is horrible)

I'm running max with 4X MSAA and nailing 60FPS easy with 80%/80% GPU utilization. Before it was 50%/50%

Awesome! In that case, I will happily purchase the game now :D

Will be running the same settings as you. Thanks for your replies ;)

Seems 8X MSAA is about the limit.. The cards are at 95%/95% GPU utilization and nipping at the 2GB VRAM wall.. Get occasional random hitching at this point also even though it's capable of hitting 60FPS still (just much less consistently)

Hope the release code fixes the 1 CPU core utilization.. 99% usage on 1 core. In 2013 for a AAA game to be locked on a single core is silly. Time to delete this, wait for my key and start a fresh game.

I'm sure you already know but this is standard DX11 multithreading.
Nothing they can do about it.

The game does use all four cores but there is always a main one that does the branching paths.
Same as AC3 by the way.

Unless Microsoft revamps its API multithreading on PC will forever be a joke.

This is one of the reason why AMD has decided to go the extra mile and create Mantle.

I don't have the game yet but I've played it at my workplace (I work at a PC store) and it runs very well, better than AC3 no doubt. 60fps locked on a GTX 780ti with everything maxed + 4xMSAA.

In the same condition AC3 regularly drops to the forties. GPU usage is steady as well.

    Good job Kiev I suppose.

I know Multithreading still leans on a single core but it's really bad in AC4

In AC3 it normally is broke down like this

    85%
    29%
    38%
    41%

^ It's at least branched out in a decent way.

In AC4 I'm seeing utilization on the cores spread out like this instead

    100%
    5%
    15%
    7%

I've tested the game on a stock I7 4770K and basically if MSI Afterburner is to be trusted here's what I have :
    78%
    48%
    22%
    91%
    Something along those lines.

Not ideal at all but the CPU is stressed as it should.
However it doesn't seem to use HT. Off or on it doesn't make any difference.

    I think it's a solid port overrall. :)

No doubt about it its a solid port, if it is even a port if you believe what Nvidia is telling us. The latest drivers just added a cherry on top. I'm just being a nitpicky hardware whore at this point. :nerd:

Nothing wrong about nitpicking when a game costs so much. ;)
I would say you're entitled to that.

I ordered from them and got my key this morning.

Installed and playing now, everything on max/txaa x4 and seem to average around 40fps, drops to 30 sometimes and others i get 60+. Haven't noticed any stutter/lag due to fps yet. Using the 331.82 drivers.

Also seems to natively support the Dual Shock 4 controller without having to use a xinput wrapper. Not sure if rumble works. And the touch pad button opens the map.

Txaa is heavy even on my sli setup. Drop it to something less and you'll be hitting 60fps in no time.

Also WT F it works OTB with DS4?! That's really interesting, wasn't expecting that at all. I wonder if it's some ps4 code left behind or it's intentional.

Because if it's intentional it's a great thing: instead being forced to use 360/xbone controller we could use the DS4 we have laying around.

    Freedom of choice is great.

40-55fps @ 1200p with everything maxed, 4x msaa, no motion blur.
I'm very pleased. No hiccups, no hitching.

My usage breaks down like this:
    GPU = 99%

    CPU = 90%, 75%, 55%, 25%

Oh! Oh! And the best part! It has excellent controller support as indicated in the post above.
I plugged in my original XBOX S controller that I soldered a usb connection onto in 2001 and the game registered it flawlessly. All buttons and functions work, mapping is perfect - unlike games who force the 360 controller mapping which makes my dpad my triggers ...? Anyways, lots of good about this title.

..as long as you like chasing people endlessly throughout the first couple scenes.

How's the game? Fun after a few hours as well? Is the music good (like AC2)?
