I think AMD got burned the last time they did that. Noticed: The tight lips prior to the launch. Ever wondered why? :)

I don't think AMD wanted to release that cooler at all. But because of all the leaked... the spied... They are paying for their actioned. But they dropped a nuclear bomb on NV. It's doesn't matter whether we all admitted or not. AMD and NV know who had won this round!

AMD won for the silicon! NV won the cooler?! <-- there are no bad GPUs , is the pricing and positioning that what's made one better than the other.

How many times are you going to quote the same reply from me? Learn how to multi quote. I know it sounds hard for you apparent intellect. But it is doable.

    this guy still posting

here's one for you bud might wet your appetite

die size of R290X/R290 is 438mm

die size of GK110 is 551mm

why am I pointing this out?

Thermal density issues means AMD will struggle more with heat compared to Nvidia since theirs more mm squared for heat to transfer through.

    Just another piece of information.

Under extreme condition (up to 40C) environment, blower solution will outperformed other solution. Especially, tight space. needed tests resulted to prove this!
    Anyone up for the task?

Tried to recalculate that with the aftermarket cooling solution.

Until, YOU unleased the beasts within and let it fly high... Then you'll learned to appreciate the silicon, the technology, the engineered behind its... come back will discussed more.

Show me a post or articles that did this test:
Every tests remained the same for both cards (780 & 290) With the EXACT same cooler (modified as needed). <-- With this we have eliminated all the variant.

have that tests resulted than will discussed some more.

here a quick fun curious you can tried: Test the cooler.

    Get a set of testbed.

With a heatpipe cooler graphic card that you had. Preferable, vapor chamber type since it's more noticeable.
Note, you can do this test with the CPU, too.

Do the tests with it flatted on the table (most normal testbed that reviewers do). than run the same test with it stand up vertically, than upside down... as however else positions you liked.

You will be surprise with your resulted!

Tried if you like to waste times! :)

P.S. The difference will varied depend on the design of that particular cooler. <-- why one cooler worked better than other cooler. And than, heatpipe and vapor chamber differences with internal construction and type of liquid...

you get the pictures and don't be shy to try those tests! :)
