For 1440p and ultra settings with some resolution scaling the game will easily use over 2gb vram.

    Pretty much this.

I'm using over 2GB at times with just 1080p and 100% reso scaling. Vram usage is going to depend on the map.

yea but I wanna see some benchmarks from guru3d. two 780's in sli is a bit too much cash for me right now, one 780 i'm not sure will be enough to game on high in 1440p and keep FPS around 80-90 avg fps. Msaa x2 res scaling I dont need to scale more. 1440p is nice enough.

One 780 will do 60fps pretty well. Why 80-90fps? Is your monitor overclocked?

yea I can do 90hz on my dell. besides, it's not about the hertz as much as frame times and smoothness. 60fps might be ok for singleplayer, but not for me in mp.

I don't get much over 80fps with my setup so there you go. I'm running resolution scaling at 130% though. With that on 100% and 2xmsaa you might be getting close to 80-90 fps on a single 780.

Sweclockers have done a great job testing it in multiplayer. The article is in Swedish but the graphs should be easy enough to understand.

judging by this graph. 3 gigs is really the way to go. with 7970 holding its own againt 770sli . damn it, I don't want to go 7970 CF, my 6970 CF is a pain in the ass for me with its stutter. nvidia why u no put more vram and bus on 770?

on the other side, on fx 8320 4.7ghz, nvidia SLI will work better than 280x CF, because nvidia puts less stress on the cpu and amd drivers like strong cores like on intel. so going 280x doesn't make sense too.

Yeah, if you want everything at ultra at 1440p you probably need 3GB. If you can live with dropping AA and some settings to high you should be fine with 2GB.

You should test it under windows 8, because bf4 can use dx11.1 functions, so windows 8 is the recommended os

Because you should never trust benchmarks a company themselves put up ? Marketing man, this is exactly why you need to look at independant reviews.

happens with games as well a fair bit recently. just recently the whole Rome2 affair and it's false marketing has left a bad taste in the mouth...(esp as it's a British company involved).

Sega also has been removing Totalbiscuits reviews somewhat underhandly.

You probably know a lot more than you can let on of course which am sure would raise a few eyebrow or smiles...

But I do think there should perhaps be some kind of regulatory body that investigates certain claims by companies or prices that seem inflated.

I realise that it's caveat comptor but sometimes it's borderline pisstaking...

^Well technically Corsair could argue the benchmark was posted by an independent blogger, not by Corsair themselves.....

But surely only the most naive persons would take that blog seriously......;)

Maybe it is because of Google Translator but I do not see any of the article showing that.

The graph you posted shows the 770 SLI rig tanking with minimum FPS 27, to the 280x CF minimum 58.

i wasn't refering to that test. it's been known for some time now. that on intel cpu, radeon and nvidia are comparable (except when they're not) but on amd, nvidia scales better.

multiple sources pointed that out already, guru3d and others, its been known for a while. im totally surprised you guys didn't know that.

I understand that its marketing, but I always held Corair with high regard and it surprises me to see them put up something misleading as that
