Under Windows 8.1 I still use the same Win64_15319.zip driver (15.31.9.64.3165) that I used on Window 8. Works fine for QS encoding. Cannot say what is going wrong with Intel drivers on your system, sorry.

    Update:
Just verified it with Win64_15335.zip - works fine as well. So it is not driver version issue, something got corrupted on Intel driver side during OS update. I cannot help with that.

Oh nooooooo! >< My hopes at a quick resolution are dashed once again! Thanks MS! XD

My soundcard drivers are also borked in 8.1, actually! Maybe it's somehow my install that's flipped out? It's only superficial damage, though (sound control panel). lol Sound still works as expected. anyway....

Thanks for taking the time Unwinder! I'll investigate further and let you guys know if anything interesting comes up!

Hi can u confirm something for me?

The vram monitor in GPU-Z and Afterburner only shows total WS right - and not other commited types?

I need a tool similar to VMM or RamMap but for vram that shows everything including cached data.
It's for an analysis which is very much outside my job description (rendering pipeline), so any suggestions are appreciated.

    (PM me if you prefer....)

    Cheers.. :nerd:

Depends on platform. On NVIDIA cards both GPUZ and AB use NVAPI to read it and internal NVIDIA VRAM usage reading implementation details are unknown. On AMD both tools use undocumented Microsoft Direct3D statistics reporting interface and displayed value is total commit in dedicated VRAM.

More good new on upcoming prerecording feature: now you can use prerecord to RAM or prerecord to file mode depending on your preferences.

Does PreRecord to file mode evade the 2GB limit ?

Yes. Prerecord to file can reserve as much space as you wish. But it is a bit slower than prerecord to RAM.

Unwinder, will 290X voltage control work on afterburner? Hearing reports its locked so far. Is it a case that afterburner needs an update to recognise the 290X and allow voltage control? When is the next update due?

    Thanks. :)

There is no support for it yet. And no ETA for compatible version.

Ok. Is it a case of voltage control will come (when support arrives) or are the cards voltage locked at hardware level?

It is not locked and support will be added in future versions.

I've noticed some games don't work right with the latest version of Msi Afterburner OSD, either a complete black screen, garbled video or for example in this game Spacebase DF-9

ON - The space back ground is completely white
OFF - Space back ground is shown perfectly

Have tried different Vector Modes :)

It depends on game engine a lot. Is there any free demo of Spacebase DF-9 available?

    All

Good news, I'm rather satisfied with internal testing of video prerecording feature so I think I'll submit new beta to MSI and we'll publicly release it soon.
To prevent any questions on it, this beta won't support 290x voltage control, my card didn't arrive yet.

Then I'm afraid I can only recommend to create a profile with OSD disabled for it.

    I purchased MSI 280x.

Should I be using the beta version or 2.3.1 is sufficient?

Neither beta nor 2.3.1 support it yet. ETA is unknown.
