Just found a deal for an i5 3570K and was wondering if its worth the upgrade.

    My current setup is i7 950 @ 4.2GHz (watercooled), GTX 580 SLi, 12GB 2GHz, Gigabyte G1.Assassin, OCZ Vertex 3 120 x 2 Raid 0.

I've tested a bit the 3570K and it runs at 4.8GHz just fine.

I use my computer for some gaming. That means I play a few "good" games, but thats perhaps 5-15h per week.

Encode from time to time (convert my Full HD phone videos), perhaps once every 2 months.

LOTS of general internet-ing, some Photoshop, actually some of everything but in small amounts.

Should I even bother making this change? (I dont care about power consumption, so its out of the question)

***Testing the CPU now at 4.6GHz 1.13V Prime95 stable. I tried a bit at 4.8GHz with 1.21V and its rock solid running Prime95. Are these voltages good?

Those voltages look really good! Mine needs about 1.38v for 4.6GHz. Are you running prime blend with AVX?
