Thanks for the quick suggestion. Did check that and the sound device listing did not show the drivers it used to do:
    Bluethooth-audio (showed)
    CyberLink WebCam Virtual Driver (showed)
    ----
AMD High Definition Audio Device (did NOT show)
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (did NOT show)

Do you have another device disabled in device manager ? In my case, i have AMD I/O disabled, A usb enchanced controller too.

Did you expand the category "sound, multimedia, etc.." ? If yes with bluetooth audio & cyberlink didn't show AMD & IDT device ? Did you refresh detection of peripherials ?

Yes I did expand and saw the mentioned 2 out of 4 audio drivers. I did not refresh detection but booted a few times with no effect.

Ok, I've taken note of the problem and I'm currently working on an alternate method to improve the installation process. I will send you another build later for Testing.

Try going to Device manager then choose scan for devices. Next restart your system and boot back into windows to check for Audio.

Ok. I will awaiting your results.

    Success - did the following:
    --------
Run aSimple Cleanup Utility in the Dx9 Switcher Folder
Run aSimple Driver Cleanup in the Dx9 Switcher Folder
    rescan
NOTE: At this point audio drivers and HW is gone...so wait for windows 7 to find them before starting the AMD setup - confirm audio is working again.
    Run setup
    GPU restarter...done
    --------
I see AODDriver4.01 failing from device manager (error code 24).
Not sure if that has any impact thought?

Will be confirming a bit more to check if everything works ok.
    --------------
    EDIT:

    Did a bit more testing.
From time to time I'm getting the Display driver stopped responding error.
I have also noticed that 3Dmark06 when running the laptop on battery mode throws the following error: IDirect3DDevice9::present failed: Device lost (D3DERR_DEVICELOST)

I sent you a link to the latest driver for Testing. Check your PM and let me know you still experience the problems quoted above.

One thing you may want to try doing before restarting your PC is applying another aero theme. (Not guaranteed to work but in some cases it does prove to be helpful<<<<< Only applies to Windows 7 and Vista)

The Second Error Message is due to the Gpu Restarter Attempting to Pre Load Catalyst Control Center so Users can immediately have access to CCC after installation is Complete. But since the driver only seems to get loaded after restarting your system it comes up as message stating the driver is not working as it should.

That's probably because support Previous Legacy Mobility Graphic Cards is not completely integrated as I never did complete testing due to lack of resources. Therefore I would like to prepare a build for you try later today. When it's finish I will let you know. (Currently not at home so it may take awhile)

    Firefox Text Bug not fixed

    Hi Dellon,

I have keenly followed your magnificient effort in providing us users a solid package of drivers for legacy Radeons.

I just installed the latest package, dated 09/02/2013 and run the 'xFireFox Text Corruption Fix' tool in the end.

Unfortunately (even) this didn't fix this bug. The corruption may have changed slightly, but still persists.

Is there anything I can check for you on my system to allow you to look into this?
    - Firefox 24.0

    Cheers,

Did you make sure Firefox was close before applying the Fix?

Certainly: Reboot, run the two clean-up tools, installed new driver, reboot, run GPU restarter, reboot, run Firefox fix, reboot.

This FF bug appears to be related to ClearType, as different choises on "Control Panel\Appearance and Personalisation\Display\Adjust ClearType text" seems to make the text corruption slightly different.

Additionally: I have seen this problem almost exclusively on Facebook pages (seen only on one other page - that I unfortunately cannot remember...)

    Hope this helps.

Hmm, Guru 3D also has the text corruption bug for HD 4000 Users. if you were to go to about:config
then find and enable azure content. You should be able to see the text corruption when quoting or replying to another post. IF Text Corruption is not disabled then you will continue to experience the bug.

The Firefox Text Corruption fix disables azure as an attempt to resolve the issue. Therefore you may want to follow the above step to see if Azure actually got disabled.

Thank you very much for your patience. This time it worked! Finally no bsod during install. Device manager shows 13.112 driver version. May I ask what was the issue? Did you change driver or something else?! Thanks again. :)
