Yeah ur card is fine. I told u to run them to see if u get around 99%. I had a qx9650 rig running at 4ghz with a 580. The 580 was bottlenecked by that cpu. 7870 equals a 580. You have a massive cpu bottleneck. There is nothing wrong with your 7870

I must agree. Its the only logical explanation. But in the PC world it can be anything.
Anyway that's why we asked about heaven benchmark and recommended a cpu upgrade. We'll be waiting for the performance updates once your parts arrive!

I guess you are all right. Might take a while until the parts arrive since the retailer doesn't have all needed components in stock.

How much would I get for my ancient CPU + HD5770 + MB??
    50 bucks?? :D

Small Update: I have sent back my HD7870 and instead of this card I'll get the Gigabyte 760 OC rev. 2.0 Windforce 3x.
I just wanted a little bit more power for the upcoming BF4 (just 30 bucks more expensive), maybe it'll be enough for high settings.

That is a great desition. the 760 is the best bang for the buck right now and with the new CPU and some OC, down the road, you can get another 760 and SLI for max settings in BF4.

I wonder if SLI would work with my 630W PSU..

Probably not (if you have many HDD and fans). But down the road you can save a bit more cash and get a new PSU and another GTX 760. You wouldn't need more than 750W anyway for those cards, as they eat 170W each.

I just have one HDD and I won't need more drives.
I've measured my current system (with HD7870) once and I got 260VA maximum.

Then you will probably be able to SLI those 760's without changing the PSU. You should always try before buying a new PSU.

I'm not sure if SLI really pays off. It seems like nearly everyone is suffering from micro stuttering or incompatibility problems. I'm really sensitive and can't enjoy a game then so I'd better go with single GPUs (oh god BF3 on PC is like heaven compared to PS3 with crappy 30FPS).

However, are you satisfied with your PSU?
At first I wanted to buy the same, but I decided to take the be quiet! one due to less sound intensity.

Yes, I had microstuttering issues and games would not work with Crossfire until the correct drivers were released, but it seems that SLI is free of microstuttering issues, compared to AMD. Issues with games, all videocards/drivers have. Of course issues are lower in quantity when you use only one vga.
My PSU is great for the price, very powerful, never heard its sound so I wouldn't know. The fans in my case are louder, lol.

I guess time will tell how I'll decide.
The last nvidia card I had was the 8800GT so I'm very excited how the drivers have improved in that time.
Should I format my drive again to delete the AMD drivers?

Nah, just use AMD driver uninstall utility.

    http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx

EDIT: it works with any windows.

    Thanks man :)

I'll try the new card with my old system to see if this was an AMD issue.

Got my PSU and nVidia card today.. Guess what?
Still the completely same problem. You are absolutely right this MUST be a bottleneck.
Missing components will be delivered soon.

PS: Does this still fit into the AMD topic section? :)

    Problem solved :))
My new system runs like a charme, everything maxed out at butter smooth 60fps.

Thank you all for your help, I'd say this is one of the best forums I've ever seen (and also with competent users).

That is great news ! I'm so glad for you. Hope you enjoy your new system for many years !

Something I like about being in a forum like this one is that I get tons of help when I have a problem that I can't sort out, but at the same time, I like to have the cance and help other with what I know. Even if it isn't too much.

    :)
