Hi friends I've recently did a slight upgrade from 7770 to 7790, both are sapphire, but I've encounter many crashing when playing games, almost any game. 2 common games I played is TF2 and Planetside 2, I do not have these problem when I'm on 7770. (Reason for upgrade becoz my younger brother wants a gaming PC, so I set it up for him and gave him my 7770) I've googled about it, not much solutions, I did a clean install and use display driver 12.1 like many suggestion, catalyst version 13.5. Still problem did not go away, just lesser frequency. My comp specs i5-3570, 8gb corsair ram, windows 7 64gb, 725 CM Extreme II PSU, well ventilated case in aircon room. I've even disabled the OC function but did not work. I'm running out of solutions, kindly please help. Thank you
Its sapphire hd7790 2gb oc edition. The crash happens very randomly, sometimes just 5-10 mins into the game, sometimes it could happen after few hours. When it happens, the screen just black out, but there is still sound coming out of the game, I can't ctrl del, only hard reset works.
I am having the exact same problem with my Sapphire 7870 XT. Everything has been working great (aside from some coil noise) and then all of a sudden, about 3 days ago, it started locking up in games. Only a reset will bring me back to the desktop. What is worse is that sometimes the screen will go black and grey lines will appear while watching flash videos.
If you tried overclocking your card that might be your problem. Or you might need to change the video settings in-game and in CCC
The card comes with OC function but I've never use it, reckon it does pretty decent already without oc and with 2gb memory, games like tf2 or planetside2 have excellent gameplay and smoothness at max settings, I don't want to risk the card of heating problem. The card stays at healthy temperature of about 40-50 degrees. I just RMA it today, fresh install of drivers, problem still persist. I'm getting nowhere. Wish I can just get a 50% refund on this bad card.
Where do you live?Mars? You will probably get another card but you could try and ask to change to another model.
i have just the freaking same problem here you 're still good that the windows did not detect as an error and show you this "DRIVER STOP WORKING" this is **** thing i have ever met and i'm afraid of buying a new computer for a long time actually driver 13.8 beta can fix this problem but some games like HON which is my fav.games is not working fine with this driver FPS drops rapidly randomly almost everybody who are using this **** hd7790 are facing with this problem you know that?
Singapore. Already did, they say they are just the local carrier of the product, change of models is not within their means. My best shot is to try to sell on local ebay or forum, but then again if it is a bad card, I wouldn't want someone else to have it either, argh dilemma.
Yup, I googled about it, it seems like it is a common for this card. I'm hopeful for 13.8b patch, but it feels to me it is a hardware thing, i might be wrong, don't quote me.
I had those black screens with my MSI 7950 Oc and just returned it, i'm waiting for replay from store i bought it. Hope it's card problem and i get another one - NEW
Well considering you are upgrading from a GT 430...Yes...What's your budget? Edit: You should start a new thread.
I wish I could use the egg much better prices than here but they wont send to NZ even if I use youshop as newegg refuse to send it to them so they can ship to NZ that same card here costs $439 more than twice the price
