Darren, I played Sleeping Dogs for about half an hour maxed but with AA on medium and it played without any stutters or crashes. This is with 314.22. I'll try 320.11 later.
Thanks. I was using 320.18. I suspect it was a Steam glitch because of the fact that the error window that appeared was a Steam one and because there was no error recorded in the event log. I may well have been a one-off as I was just randomly playing a number of games for up to an hour yesterday to see how they ran on my GTX 780 (using GTX 680 SLI graphics settings!). I've just had an email from EVGA about a free backplate for the GTX 770. That card also gets a free copy of Metro: LL. What does the GTX 780 get? None of those things, just 3DMark and Primal Carnage (which the GTX 770 also gets)! Does that sound right to anyone that a more expensive card gets the poorer deal? :3eyes:
Free Metro for 770? wtf .. I wanted the game and it would have been awesome if it came with our pricey cards :-/ I guess we'll get stuck with F2P crap.
Yes, they are as they are listed on the EVGA site for Auto-Notification as they are not yet available. Alongside the GTX 770 one it states that it is free but there' nothing similar for the GTX 780. So a £330 graphics card gets a free backplate and triple A game and the £550 one doesn't? That's just unfair IMO. :wanker:
Wooooooo-oh, I'm getting weird-looking blue/purple tinged graphics in Trine 2 with my new card, although Trine is absolutely fine. *EDIT* The workaround for now (since it's a driver bug) is as follows: 1. Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Trine2\options.txt 2. In the opened file, find and change: setOption(renderingModule, "ShowGlow", true) to setOption(renderingModule, "ShowGlow", false) This should fix the blue overlay until an actual driver fix is presented. (Source: http://www.overclock.net/t/1388278/trine-2-colors-messed-up) Alternatively, you can lower the Graphics Detail quality down to Medium. It looks like this (not my picture but taken from a thread on Steam): Spoiler
Guys I have no idea which GTX 780 to get. ASUS GTX 780 or EVGA SC GTX 780 or Windforce OC GTX 780 Got a R4 tower.
EVGA, without question, you know they only make for nvidia?, i didn't know this till kinda recently. Their support is excellent, as are their cards.
But what about the ASUS one? Received plenty of awards. https://www.inet.se/produkt/5409846/asus-geforce-gtx-780-3gb
I'd say EVGA as well. They seem to have very good support, offer freebies (granted the ones for the GTX 770 are better) and do a very useful firmware upgrade tool! I think I'm a convert!
I benched Sleeping Dogs and Tomb Raider with the 320.11 driver and I got lower minimum FPS (by 10!) in TR and stuttering while driving in SD. 314.22 offered both stability and performance while 320.18 offered great performance but terrible on the stability front. Darren, if you're feeling adventurous try the new CUDA driver. It has fixes for Black Ops 2 so it should almost certainly have the same fix for Trine 2 (both games suffered from strange glitches with recent drivers).
