I ordered the EVGA SC w/ACX coolers from Amazon. Do the super clocked cards still have more headroom to OC? :3eyes:

Its suppose to be Curaçao XT

    http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/1932/radeon-hd-8970.html

Maybe it will be a 7870 replacement and that real high end reserved for Vulcanic Islands. Well i think it will be just that, since this Curaçao XT is just a little faster then Full GK110 aka Titan..

Yeah, that or some games would've helped this thing pay for itself ...

Well colour me impressed, stable at +220MHz core clock, hitting 66c maximum!

Yep, can't even hear it either!

I was a little put off after my 680 ref sounding like a hairdryer, but I decided to take the plunge after reading about how great the Titan cooler is.
That, and I'm impatient...either way, couldn't be happier.

Tress On, everything maxed, no SSAA.

    Nice upgrade from a +120MHz core 680!

Is the Titan cooler the single fan? I have the ACX version ordered because I was worried it would be too loud on load. Maybe I should switch as I like the look of the Titan cooler.

Yeah, the exact same I think. It's pretty loud on 100%, quieter than the 680 ref, but it's not like it ever goes above 60-70% on full load anyway.

Thanks! I'll get the reference card if it is cheaper than OC :)

Been saying that the TITAN cooler is the better choice overall.

No one listens to me. :wanker:

Had to drop OC to 210MHz, 5 runs of the Heaven 4 benchmark didn't kill it, Crysis 3 didn't kill it, but Batman Arkham City did, with about 60% usage might I add...

Saying something is better and not giving a reason why are 2 different things. Maybe that's why no one is listening. :3eyes:

Sucks cuz Newegg didn't have theirs up till thursday, so I probably won't get my 780 until monday even with overnight.

Well if you would read articles on it, you'd see why he says what he says. They have a Video on Nvidias site describing the cooler and why it's improved.

Then he should provide links, he should know better. I'm on EVGA's boards and the product mgr says the ACX version is the better choice if you have good airflow inside your case. How come I can post a link and he can't?
