SSAA its just downsampling, SSAAx4 is like playing that game at 4K resolution. You would need 2x titans for smooth gameplay on that SSAA settings.
Because 4A's AAA (FXAA+downsampling) is ****ing awesome. By default, Metro: Last Light utilizes 4A’s proprietary Analytical Anti-Aliasing (AAA) to lessen the impact of jagged, aliased edges on geometry, objects, characters, transparent textures, and all other screen elements. A combination of FXAA and 4A tech, AAA improves upon other post-processing anti-aliasing techniques by doubling the internal resolution of the picture using pattern and shape detection, and downsampling the post-processed result back to the user’s screen resolution, resulting in an anti-aliased image that is far smoother and clearer than traditional post-process techniques can create.
Is the AAA improved this time around? I wasn't very impressed with it in Metro 2033. 4x MSAA plus injected SMAA looked much better. Btw, why isn't MSAA included this time around. Is the engine that different? Would be a lot less resource hogging than SSAA.
lol, AAA, MSAA, SMAA, SSAA, what the hell are we talking about anymore, different groups for recovering alcoholics? edit- Aaaand I realize I just quoted myself. :stewpid:
Hmm, am I the only one who is pissed that the graphical presets are fixed? How hard is it to allow #1 custom tweakable settings #2 fov sliders Guess its very hard when you have 2 other old machines to consider.
Dude I just about spit soda out of my mouth reading that. All this AA is getting more confusing than Intels processor naming schemes. And I read hours about all the new AA modes too lol. That was funny.
I can't remember the last time I played a game that blew me away from the start and continued through the whole game. This is by far the best game I've played in a looong time.
No. Because all the environments have light scaled calculated whatever from the bloom, and disabling it could cause light glitches and cause artyom's hand to become discolored or pink, yada yada yada We will roll out an update to manually tweak each setting and charge you 15$ for it, but be warned it will break things! (like imagine bf3 broken with a certain recent driver) luls
Welcome to Metro. For the most part they were done in presets like that in Metro 2033 as well. So, it's not really surprising they are handled the same way here.
So I checked the game exe in a hex editor for command line parameters and found something called "-test", thought it seemed weird so I tried it. (By using the "help" console command.) Looks like this can be quite useful but I am unsure how this "test mode" is best used.
Serious question(s): Spiders in the game: 1. Are they all over or are they only in one particular level? 2. Do they have eight legs? 3. Do they move like real life spiders? So yeah, I have a phobia, lol.
Lol, how did you play Doom 3 if you have a phobia with spiders? Remember, it's JUST a game & they're not real spiders. These are VERY much real though, enjoy!
