Does the AM3 and AM3+ both use the same cooling solutions? In other words, for aftermarket coolers do the AM3 applications work on the AM3+ sockets also?

Yarp. Unline intel, who change sockets every 2-3 years, AMD have faithfully stuck with the plastic mounts since 2003 (940->939->AM2->AM2+->AM3->AM3+ and FM1 and FM2). Kudos to them for it.

I love AMD for doing this. I'm going to use my old TT Big Typhoon (from 2006?) with a scythe gentle typhoon 1850rpm fan on a 5800k APU.

They're essentially the same socket with one or 2 pins missing lol.

Thanks guys. Just re-used my cooler master V8. It's why I asked in the first place since I like this cooler.

Maybe he owns the website that he is linking and he is doing it in an attempt at getting views on said website?

There's better ways than reviving a 9 year old thread that apparently had little interest, even 9 years ago....

A lot of the spammer type posts usually make a comment with something that appears to be a normal comment... then later come back and edit it to link off site to something the spammer is trying to bring attention too.

This one is kind of a weird one, maybe he felt he really needed to make a new account just to share that one link *shrugs*
