SimCity Might be the worst Game release Ever

Shockingly bad AI has always been a hallmark of the Simcity series. I'd sooner expect a cure for AIDS than for Maxis to fix pathfinding.

 

better stick to minecraft folks.

Now March 25? Just a couple of hours ago I saw 20 on Polygon's homepage.

 

If you register a copy of SimCity by March 25

You get your games on the 22nd give or take some hours.

 

Now 22nd .. lol.

All of this is a terrible lie. I dont expect EA to send me any free game even if they say they will do so.

 

I expected a lie also cause people forgot that from BF3 we were supposed to get something but they just put it off in the distance so its forgotten. Seems like they are trying same thing here. Just put it off later and people forget and it wasn't even pushed out there to begin with. They sent no emails or any type of message. If it wasn't for this article I would of never known about it. The games I see only Dead Space 3 seems the only 1 I'd go for, I have BF3 and played all other games.

 

As I mentioned in an earlier post I've never played the SimCity games but this whole story has really peaked my interest! With that said has anyone who purchased this game and had problems been able to actually download any of the free games (in the States its now the 22nd, soon to be the 23rd)? I am very interested to see how this all plays out! Last but not least, now that some time has passed since the game was released is it anymore playable than it was - that is to say are people who purchased this game actually able to play it as advertised? Thanks guys!

 

Got the free games on the 19th, so did my friend, both downloaded fine.

Also, i've been able to play it fine for weeks now.

 

I've seen much worse launches. I fail to see how server issues on the first couple of days make for the worst launch.

 

Well EA/Maxis removed features from the game as a result of trying to fix the server issues. Also they did not offer any refunds on digital downloads. Even amazon.com took the game out of sale due to too many complaints & refund requests. Unlike Blizzard with Diablo3 they never removed functionality to get the game working. Also they offered refunds on their digital downloads. EA removed the most important thing about Sim City is cheetah speed mode which is good for making money when needed. To me Sim City 2013 is not a fully featured game without that mode.

 

EA offered refunds to those who bought the game on origin. They also offered free games to those who bought the game.
