Hello, tomorrow I'm gonna buy a Graphic Card (so this is very important) and I want to learn which one I'll have the best result for 3D: I have a 3D Led Samsung Monitor (Has 120Mhz and can support 3d) 1. My 3d Monitor + AMD HD3D Graphic Card 2. My 3d Monitor + TriDef Middleware 3. My 3d Monitor + AMD HD3D Graphic Card+ TriDef Middleware I got a very satisfying result with 2nd option. Do you think I'd need to buy a Amd HD3D (ex: this card (click)) for better 3d? Or if you think the 2nd option is good enough I'd like to go for this card (click) Thank YOU!
Amd is neither famous nor verified for 3D gaming and there is no support actually. Nvidia 3D vision is thousand times better like comparing a Ferrari and a bicycle.
It depends the price range, for 1080p 120hz even a gtx 680 would struggle achieving ultra details on latest titles, so gtx 670/660ti will have worse times. 660ti is minimum. You want max details or mediocre? 3D isn't an easy mission.
No need for extreme details.. Thank you.. So, you say this card can be very good ? http://usa.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/GTX680DC2T2GD5/
You're aiming for 1080p / 120hz 3D gaming with a Core 2 Duo? I'd suggest taking a look at the rest of your system before going down that route.
After reading Hilbert's review of the Zalman ZM-M240W Trimon monitor, I felt I had to give it a try. Since Zalman passive S3D is supported in nVidia control panel, and it takes up to a 20% framerate hit compared to the active alternative which has a better IQ, but cuts framerate by almost half, or thereabouts. Anyway, I was using a GTX560 Ti then, so it worked out nicely. I still have that monitor, and paired it with my SLi'ed GTX670's and needless to say, I can max out just about every game in sight in S3D @1080P, other than Metro 2033 that is.
