    Boys. Help.

Which settings do I have to turn to low/off to get an average 40FPS?.

I am averaging 20FPS at the moment.

Yes yes, I know!. I just bought this brand spanking new G630, temporarily.

Turn AA off it will destroy your FPS --- DX9 might be easier on your rig to, the CPU in particular. try lowering Post FX and Shadows too... also Water to Medium reportedly helps low FPS issues too. :)

Yes dx9 gives more fps but the shimmering in dx9 is terrible, Unplayable for me tbh.

Actually a dx11 game that actually makes a difference to dx9 which is very rare.

How is DX11 related to CPU performance?. Please tell me.

    I sold my 2500K.

I was playing at all very high/ultra except:

    MSAA was at 4 samples.

    Alpha to Coverage: Enhanced

    Shadows: Medium.

    Post FX: Low.

I have played like 10 hours and never saw any dips, stutter or slow downs. Enjoying it thoroughly, though now, it's just sad.

This game definitely needs 4 cores.

Guys, any of you experiencing audio issues using headset ?

What i meant is, i can never pin point a sound when using my headset, and yes it isn't a 5.1 headset, but is the game forcing it to be a 5.1 ?

Im hearing things like all around me, so hard to know where the sound is coming from, but using my speakers, I have no trouble at all.

I thought it was the driver, and headset, but I reinstalled my driver, tried my headset on different games and there's no problem at all with the driver or headset.

Any one have any idea ?
It's just annoying hearing a sumatran tiger, and panicking to know where it is and suddenly you jumped out of the chair because it bit you in the ass.

Finished it a little while ago.
Great game, while the first half is the strongest half... mostly due to Vaas being so damn awesome, I really enjoyed the second half as well.

In fact, I wanted another baddie to chase after once I took down the main enemy. I wanted more content.

Not much difference to my eyes and not worth the fps hit. I can even enable HDAO in DX9 without dipping below 60fps.

To get rid of shimmering in DX9 I use 0x004012C1 AA flag, set 4xMSAA & 4xSSAA, Nvidia FXAA=On, LOD Bias clamped. It still shimmers in the distance but that's because of the crap draw distance.

Hell if I know, even with the dx11 stuff turned off, dx9 still gave me about 15-20 more fps

I finished the game with the ending of the chick killing me after sex.

I was going to replay the ending to get the other ending but then I found I never created a save before entering the temple.

last save was doppelganger mission, so I decided to watch the other ending on youtube.

    Not always true.
I get smoother performance with DX11 on. In DX9 it stutters and starts to get sluggish after a while.
In DX11 there's no stuttering, frame rates are always above 50 and it doesn't slow down or get sluggish after extended play.

DX11 is worse for some, but better for others. It's just a case of people need to experiment and find the best mix of settings.

I have a save exactly before entering the temple for the finale because I wanted to see both endings. I don't know if it works but it does, I can send it to you.
And actually I didn't had one backed up until I got to the "choice" part. Immediately alt-tab and force closed the game and backed it up. :D

That happens when you have a very high FOV. Don't think you can do anything about it.

I can see multiple FPS killing options you've got set there. In DX9 mode you can use driver side SSAA and FXAA instead of in-game MSAA and Aplha Coverage to save fps. I also found disabling vsync and using Max Frames=1 give more consistent fps. And DX9 (despite using the same xml tweaks) eliminated fps drops completely with minimal loss of IQ.

Yeah it's exactly that; the field of view that is. I have exactly the same thing, but when you tone it down a few it will stop happening :)
