Hi. I searched a lot for the brightness fix in the newest AMD drivers, apart of switching amd > intel to intel > amd... then i found a reg which fix this forever.. I tried it and it works! (I have HP DV6-6070 with 6770M + Intel HD) Here is my upload from putlocker, u can make mirrors. http://www.putlocker.com/file/6C488A6F40B92C1C Sorry for my english.
Look into registry if the number in the .reg file is same for your graphic card (I mean the {4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} ) Or just search the registry for the FeatureTestControl key... BTW I had also problem with brightness control. After reinstall of windows it self-fixed. My value is 0x0000f840
I just tried it on my notebook. Value f940 broken my brightness - it was shifted (The lowest brightness was on 3 and maximum was lower. Below 3 it started light up again). Back to value f840 and everything is OK. SO i recommend this number BTW bigger problem for me is, that on Intel card my fan doesn't work (It stay on the setting before switch...) BTW2 Don't anyone know, what in registry under this Intel settings key @minecraft mean?
None of value is optimal for everyone. Amd knows it,Intel knows, i know it. Thats why i made brightness resolver in enduro release.
I have an HP DM1-4010 Netbook, AMD E-450. Since a BIOS update to support Windows 8, my brightness keys no longer work. I'm running the latest 12.11 Beta .net 4 drivers. It doesn't look like this fix is an exact match for my machine, but can anyone help?
I have a laptop with 6700M series graphics and this fix does not work for me either. No brightness control with any of the 12.11 beta releases. The only solution has been to use the 12.10 drivers, which have no brightness issues for me. Strangely enough the latest driver version available from windows update (I'm running Windows 8) also has this brightness issue, and only the official 12.10 mobility release or an older driver return brightness control.
Another user found a much easier fix. Just go into device manager and delete your monitor drivers and then scan for hardware changes. that seems to fix the brightness.
Sometime I have problem with brightness control on AMD. I must switch to Intel and back, but if you have only AMD I don't know how to help you...
That would be nice but I don't think they provide any. The keyboard works when on the Intel but not on the AMD. It is strange. Suppose it could even be something with the way the hardware is setup.
Could be. However, you can try experimenting with updated Brightness Resolver. I 've made a post over here. And please send me pm with your email (not german, my ip is blacklisted for no reason).
