    i have a question about SMAA and FXAA : its normal for SMAA on low black ops 2 to drop fps 3 fps for my hd 4850 ?
    and for FXAA drop 4 fps in almost games in low !!?
    but when do in game fxaa it drop fps 2 fps almost some times 3 fps
    and i notice fxaa had latency .. that whey i dont use it

    HD 6850 (flashed to 6870)
    EDIT: GTA4 overlay & AA & AO works fine. Triple Buffering does not. I tried that extra enforcing option, no luck there either.

    Hmm, when it was mentioned that AO works in HL2 now, does that mean it should also work with other source-engine games (more specifically, Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2)? Or did it just not work before only with HL2? Or is this just something that needs to be tested?

    i admire people still using this useless failed buggy triple buffering in most games it reduces fps, increases heat and introducing lag...wth really...

    with radeon pro you do not need anything more than vsync + refresh rate set + DFC...

    And if i use Vsync + Refresh Rate + DFC, it will only limit my fps to 60, and then 30 if it goes under, right normal Vsync, right?

    I guess it's better to add some detection function to RP and warn the user when the RP process is running with elevated privileges.

    About AO, it could happen if in the middle of a game it changes the depth buffer used. For example, HL2 uses depth buffer index 0 and renders information needed by Ambient Occlusion in 4th depth buffer iteration, if the buffer index or the iteration step changes during the game, AO can either stop working or render incorrect data. I didn't experienced issues in that matter during my limited tests.

    I guess it can be fixed, I'll try that later.

    No, it's not guaranteed to work even though they're using the same engine. For instance, HL2 works fine but I can't get AO to work on L4D2.

    It's not needed, I'll try it when I get a chance. I like challenges, HL2 and Skyrim were both challenging and fun to get them working. It also opened more possibilities for other games and might improve performance in others that use early depth buffer resolving.

    Awesome job! i still does not know exactly how to make everything works.. But i'm on it :3, Assassin's Creed 3 crashes before starts, no matter what do you change :S

    EDIT: It crashes by Uplay integration on the game, if you deactivate it you can play, but its needed, hope you find a way to integrate Uplay in RadeonPro :)

    "Spec Ops The Line" is acting up when using vsync. It shows the classical issue of "when FPS below 60 drop down to 30 !!". TB is enabled. It makes no difference whether I select vsync=on in the game menu or turn it off and force it via RadeonPRO instead. The FPS keeps jumping from 60 to 30. Isn't TB supposed to take care of that? :wanker:

    spec ops vsync off 54 FPS

    So yeah, my GPU is capable of staying at close below 60FPS... :-/ Typical case for a triple buffering friendly scenario. But no go. :(

    I thought triple buffering was just to decrease the added input latency with vsync (using more GPU power)? If Spec Ops did the FPS<60 go to 30 thing with normal vsync, triple buffering shouldn't change that at all.

    correct, that is the normal operation of vsync.

    you need dynamic vsync enabled to get rid of the drop to 30fps.

    megagoth, does d3doverrider work? i've seen several UE3 games from around this year where TB doesnt work by default from the game (when it usually does, such as borderlands)

    even more interesting, hawken didnt seem to have TB in the previous alphas/betas, but with the new open beta, there is no need to force it anymore... i wonder if it's part of the engine inis or what

    is it the vsync ding? are you forcing vsync with RP? maybe the game quickloads unusually even though it's mid game

    that's not what RP is about, it's more personal preferences/tweaks/additional options

    there is no such thing as some generic settings for all games, that just doesnt make any sense, some games are light & you can crank the gfx up, other games are too demanding & you have to turn some settings down...

    Ah, dude thanks I forgot about that tool. I will try right now.

    EDIT: D3DOverrider works. I'll try using it together with RP...
    EDIT: Nope, does not work. RP overrides D3D overrider. :-/ So yeah. Either smaa, sweetFX and crappy vsync or nothing and good vsync. Daym, I hate using more tools than needed for a job. ^^

    have you tried alt-tabbing out and back in?

    a bunch of games dont correctly turn TB on initially, tabbing out and back in rebuilds the render pipeline and usually will enable TB correctly.
