That's excellent advice Elder! I've had two S&W .45 couple of .38 Colts, etc. and how it feels in your hand is a major consideration! Used to be a member of a enthusiast sharp-shooting club (including tournaments) and I always felt the S&W .45 was the perfect extension of my hand (related to accuracy on the target), but the .9 mm feels like a good fit, too. Never fired a 9 mm, though.
This is what I've been looking into a lot recently Much like the regular M&P, but more conceal-friendly. Haven't heard anything too bad about it, short of some guy on youtube having a mag release problem (though I would blame that on the recoil kicking the mag release button into his... plus-sized left palm) For non concealed carry, I think the Glock is a better option than the full-size M&P, having a much nicer trigger pull. In 9mm, the checkering on a Glock's grip doesn't bite your hand as much as I've heard it does in larger calibers.
A local shop here has a waiting list for M&P. They don't even get to stock them at all. Ordered an optics ready AR upper, Magpul gen 2 flip ups, MOE stock and 3 pmags this week. I'm crossing fingers it all gets here this week, so I can get it all together and go shooting over next weekend. My AR is going to look nice!
Only fired a few SLR self loading rifle 7.62mm first time got a bad case of snipers eye SMG sub machine gun 9mm Browning pistol 9mm Desert eagle with silencer Uzi with silencer SA80 rifle 5.56mm
My collection: From left to right: AR-15, AK-74 with bipod, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, *****-marked KAR98K, Mosin Nagant M38, Mosin Nagant 91/30, unconverted Saiga, and SKS. Bottom: TT-33 and Walther P38. My AKs together: AK-74 and converted Saiga(AK-47)
Ordered 4 more gen 3 pmags yesterday...between a buddy and myself we have over 100 AR mags, with him having the majority heh. There is a frenzy right now, and if you're planning on getting a gun you better get it sooner than later because when some new dumbass ban comes up high caps for even pistols will be EXPENSIVE.
I've thought about getting an AR10 or Remington 7400 at some point. Yeah, the gun-owner discrimination frenzy might make it impossible soon... Sigh... I feel pressured to grab em' now, even though I wasn't gonna bother for at least another year... I donno... -scheherazade
People are stocking up right now. Many gun stores in the area are sold-out of modern firearms. Ammo is backordered in many places, hi-cap magazines are nowhere to be found. I saw places online selling pmags for $60. I purchased a few things, but should have bought a few more things on Friday afternoon. I'd like to know how many of these people are new owners or if it is just seasoned owners buying up even more....
I suspect it's mostly pre-existing owners. I don't know too many people on the fence. They either have some, or don't have any and don't plan ever to have any. -scheherazade
I wouldn't worry about it. There's always talk of a gun ban after a school shooting. Nothing ever comes from it. All it does is makes the pockets of the gun manufacturers fatter because people have their tinfoil hat on to tight.
I'm good on mags in general. I bought 6 boxes of pmags at a gun show last month for fairly cheap. I also have a few beta mags for my AR's and AK's somewhere around here.
I think my next one will be a 1911. I'm on the fence about the Kimber Super Carry Pro or the Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion. I've fired both and really like them. But can only get one. Yeah I know, first world problems. :nerd:
It's quite the experience you should try it once, it give you a whole new respect for the tool "gun".
Why not? You have gun clubs in the UK. I saw a video on youtube of an old Brit blasting off a suppressed shotgun in his back yard.
