Hello guys, I´ve just done a fresh install of windows 7 and once RP is installes I can´t get BF3 to work with it.

I´m using latest 12.11 beta 11 with Cap2 but I must be missing something that must have been reported earlier in this post "but now is quite too long for searching". Dosen´t matter wich settings I use (FXAA/Adaptive Vsync or FXAA) when I run BF3 it crashes and doesn´t even run. If I turn off RP or Disable API monitoring then works again but without the tweaks of course...

I´m using MSI Afterburner if it helps.

    Thx a lot

That might be my fault... since RP was not working right in Far Cry 2. I installed sweetfx outside with the injector. So I guess it'll work fine if using it through RP, but not outside.

I can't wait to see the SSAA working. I currently use it in any game that supports it. Even at 2x or better yet 4x SSAA, it blows 8xMSAA out of the water.

Hi. That option would need changes to a good bunch of code, I guess I'll leave that way by now. In the mean time, you can always toggle OSD visibility before taking screenshots.

AO debugging tool will be released soon to a few users at first, it won't be available to general public because it can crash some games (rarely, but can) due to its internals.

Well, AO isn't plug and play as I left clear, of course anyone can try and sometimes just be lucky. In a matter of fact, for most games I got AO working by just adding it to the AO list and enabling AO on game profile just like you did, but not for others which make me add a lot of flags to signal RP how to deal with the depth buffer. You might try copying flags from another profile and set different index value for your AO profile to see if it works.

You're not the first to report that error but I couldn't reproduce it here. You may try a minimal set of programs running in order to isolate the problem.

Yes, post processing applied by other tools may or may not be captured, it will depend on hooking load order and that's out of RP control.

EDIT: GTA4 overlay & AA & AO works fine. Triple Buffering does not. I tried that extra enforcing option, no luck there either.

I just realised now that I left some testing profiles in AO file... DCS, Skyrim and Metro 2033 entries were not supposed to be there (they aren't working)

    I'll fix that later.

Ah snap, thanks for the reply. Will there be a chance of DCS HBAO working? :-/ Is there any way I could help?

Until the AO debugging tool is ready I think it will be very time consuming and boring to get it working on DCS. Some games can be very easy thou, even without the tool.

Ah dude, you made 64 bit work, you'll make this work as well someday. ;) I'll just keep waiting.

SSAA in BF3 should work already on HD 7000 cards. Just enable ingame MSAA and set Antialiasing to "Enhance Application Settings" and Antialiasing mode to
    "Supersample" in RP or CCC.

    Question about SweetFx

Hello, I'm new on the forum, this is my first post.
I installed Radeon Pro on my PC, and I red the info about to use SweetFX. Now I see the menu of SweetFx in Radeon Pro interface.
The question is: I have to copy all the contains of the Sweet FX folder in the game directory that I want to apply the effect (by Radeon Pro) or Radeon Pro will apply by itself?
    Thank you.

Just telling that SSAA with Enhanced On makes it eat alot more power than normal.
Not sure if there is a Big difference in quality, or if it´s game to game, but on Mass Effect, i didn´t notice any real difference (didn´t really compare picture though), but it there was quite a performance hit, so you guys know.

Also, a question on the HBAO, i got it working on Orcs Must Die 2, but i wonder, can i work wrong?

Meaning, if it works, is it correct, or can there be more options that work, and some may cause wrong effects etc?

PS: okay from my testing now, it seems that it can indeed be wrong effects.

PS2: well i got it working, only problem is that stuff that are in front (like a sign that display the Level Name or something like that) isn´t in front of the shadows, so they are on top of these, not sure if it´s fixable, but it isn´t a Real problem as it isn´t on all front things, just stuff that are shown sometimes i think.

But well, it´s pretty useless on this game though, except if you got Crossfire, cause i get from 50-60% core to 90% core, on Medium;P

    Hello japamd!

I've started to use this tool because Ray Adams seems to not work anymore in ATT so I gave it a try. There's only one problem: when I start RadeonPro, I get an error message:

"Unexpectedly error while updating profile settings

Value of '11' is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'Minimum' and 'Maximum'.
    Parameter name: Value
    at System.Windows.Forms.TrackBar.set_Value(Int32 value)
    at RadeonPro.BaseForm.set_OnAI(Int32 value)
    at RadeonPro.BaseForm.baseUpdateSettings(ProfileInfo cp)"

What I am doing wrong? I've unistalled ATT and deleted every single registry entry but I'll try it again.

Thank you very much for your work!

After some Origin update this started to happen to me too at times.

The workaround I have found was disabling Origin In-game interface from the options. Oddly enough, once it worked, I could quit and re-enable this feature and get BF3 to launch anyway.

This kinda made me think that it was a coincidence at first, but disabling Origin In-game thing did resolve my issue immediately twice already, so it's worth trying, I guess.

    Ok, thanks.

The best way to integrate SweetFX is using clean (not modified) files from original package, just decompress files into a directory of your choice, set that directory into RP settings then configure each game using specific settings for Sweetfx. You must remove all previous Sweetfx files from game directories, using RadeonPro you'll need a single instance of shader files that won't be changed at all by RP, all shaders settings will be read from your game profiles.

You might see strange things while using forced AO while in game menus or pause screens and you might see wrong shadows if you choose the wrong depth buffer index. In order to have AO working you need to choose the correct API, correct depth buffer index and adequate bit flags. There are lots of flags by the way, some of them were added when I started AO development and became useless during the process, I'll clean up some unused flags and add explanation for the valid ones, I just need more time to figure out why RP can't capture the depth buffer before it's cleaned by the game engine. When all flags get settle down, I'll make some docs and will roll out the AO debug tool so you can test several flags and depth buffer indexes while the game is running.

How did you configured monitoring for programs not listed in your profiles list? You can also try adding OA and Take on Helicopters executable names as triggers for Arma 2 profile and see if they work.

    Is this a clean install?

Do you have confirmation of this else where? I'm gonna give it a shot when I get home later today.

Per AMD, all 7000 series have the ability to use SSAA in dx10, and 11, earlier cards do not.

Japamd's solution could potentially bring this ability to 6xxx and earlier cards.

    from the CAT 12.4 notes:

Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing: Level of Detail (LOD) Image Quality enhancements
    • Supported on the AMD Radeon HD 7900, AMD Radeon HD 7800, and AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
    • LOD Image quality enhancements for Super Sample Anti-Aliasing and Adaptive Anti-Aliasing through the AMD Catalyst™ Control Center for DirectX® 10 and DirectX® 11 applications.
    • Applications must support in game Anti-Aliasing for the feature to work (Forced on Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center is not supported for DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 applications)
