    IPS + fast response + 3D + ambient lighting + 27" + acceptable price = I like it!
Too bad they haven't said what resolution it has, but with emphasis on HDMI I'd say 1080p.

There are two important features for 3D monitors: Brightness and Refresh Rate. Frame rate of at least 72 Hz per eye is required for a flicker-free monitor (ISO 9241 and TCO 92 Certification). It means that proper 3D monitor must support 144 Hz as a minimum. At the moment only ASUS makes proper 3D monitors suitable for gaming: ASUS VG278HE (Brightness: 400 cd/㎡, Refresh Rate: 144 Hz). Also, VG278HE fits with Hollywood industry perfectly, because 144 Hz allows for smooth frame rate upconversion of 24 Hz movies (144Hz = 6 x 24 Hz).

Edit: It seems like 3D mode is limited to 120Hz (60Hz per eye). It is not very nice for ASUS to bury this fact because it creates false assumptions and customers can't make informative decision.

For stuff like this, you might as well just start the article: "So and so released this to the press." Then just put it all in quotes. It's not good for Guru3D to mesh your own writing with a press release without clearly differentiating the two.

It is 1920x1080. As for the 3D, it uses passive glasses so you can forget you're going beyond 60Hz...

1080p@60fps can appeal to a certain audience... the 99.99% of us who can't sustain 1440p@120fps in the latest games with everything maxed out.

But I don't know if 1080p is acceptable on a 27" screen, it seems a little too low even for a 23" screen. The last monitor I had was 2048x1152 on a 23" panel, that seemed just about right or just a smidge too low res. But of course that heavily depends on how far you sit from your monitor.

Either way it has my attention, which is rare.

When will they get down to 2ms? This is 6ms. I'm on a 2ms Samsung SA750 and I see NO blurring or lag.

I did notice these things on my previous monitor which was 8ms.

There are no 2ms IPS panels available. Most are still 8, Apple's are 12. But 6 should be fine, I'm using a U2312HM right now and IIRC it's 8ms, it's fine, no biggie. It doesn't bother me at all. I always find it hilarious when people want to buy monitors with the lowest response time but then set their games to maximum motion blurring.
