Just caved in and purchased a 7950.

Good choice? Still waiting for it to get here. Have to wait 4 days . It was either this or a 670 but I figured the 7950 seems to have the best price to performance ratio especially overclocked.

I don't think all 7950's overclock the same, I think the sapphire vapor x are the best overclockers.

 

That's what I ordered. I'm usually completely Nvidia but...it just seemed like the best choice.

Just purchased two^^ upgrading from 570 SLi, hope I don't run into too many issues.
570 1.2gb definitely struggles with Farcry 3.

 

Make sure the Vapor-X cards you guys ordered are V2 with 8+8 pins not V1 with 8+6 pins.

 

Yeah, make sure of that. Otherwise you'll definitely be SUPER happy with the purchase! You'll love the OCability and everything.

 

7950 at the moment is the best price/performance card. Overclock like crazy and you get a good bundle with them too! 12.11 drivers gives more performance so the only way you couldn't be happy is if your a total Nvidia loyalist

I keep thinking to myself sell your 6950's and pick up two 7950's, but I'd also have to get a couple waterblocks for them so I may aswell just wait for the 8000 Series. Trying to limit myself to upgrading every other generation too, not easy lol, especially when you've had the same cards very nearly two years now lol

Normally I upgrade every 2nd or 3rd generation, but after researching the 79xx I decided to upgrade from my 6950. Kinda glad I did because my performance has nearly doubled.

You're running CF though so you should get great fps no?

 

Yeah I get good FPS in my games, titles like Crysis 2, BF3 and FC3 they struggle a bit totally maxed at 1080p, you know Ultra details, HBAO and all that jazz so I have to lower things slightly.

Like I say, I bought these cards December 2010 so I'm weeks away from having them for 2 years which is a long time for me lol But we're so close to 8000 Series I'm going to try my best and wait another couple months, hopefully they'll be out. Waiting also gives me time to save, just put a new Crucial M4 256GB on the credit card and FC3, had only just cleared the bloody thing!
