How do I setup an external monitor as primary? And do it using the command prompt?
The laptop screen is no longer working. I had previously set up the laptop to use both screens, but I recently had to do a systems restore. I'm not sure if this affected the external monitor in any way. I can see the screen in safe mode with command prompt, but not normal screen. Please help.

Does FN+F5 or FN+F8 work to change the display from laptop only/laptop+external/external only?

Usually the setting is saved but some badly behaving drivers may require Fn + F4|5|8|... - in my case last time probably 2 years ago. I'm always on external and it pops up after booting.
