Looks good, the old one became very hard to navigate, will take some time till I get used to this one but it's great news!

I honestly thought I had gone to the wrong website for a while!

I was very used to the old design but I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too!

Edit: It says I need to login on the front page, then says I am logged in when I go to do so, then back at the front page it says I need to login!

Well, that was a surprise! I wish I could agree somehow with most people here, but the new design doesn't convince me. Looks as if someone took some CMS, looked up some standard skin and changed the logo. I miss the visual identification with the old site, like color scheme, header, logo, something. Sure, I'll get used to it... but it's only just so so, in my opinion.

Oh, and I guess you know that the site is too wide for 1024er screens?

Code wise nice work separating the style from the content before you could disable the style sheets and it would look the same, the size of pages served are now much smaller and so should save you bandwidth and speed up page loads and the style sheet is cached. Plus it's much more accessible to screen readers. In the w3 validator it now shows just 21 errors rather than the thousands before and the HTML looks much cleaner; HTML quality is said to affect SEO. Still a bit of table abuse but not nearly as bad as previously.

Good job and a worthwhile investment. Any design changes from now on will be much easier.

I don't think the old layout looked professional at all, it was a mess. The new layout is great, but the colours are as you put it, definitely "amateurish". This reminds me of the kind of colour choice I'd have chose when I was a child. I really don't agree with it. I mean, I can barely read the text here:

Also, please remove the pagecount. This is supposed to be a professional site not a blog. Showing a page count looks wrong. At the same time, can you make the numbered boxes more consistent with all the other boxes? For starters, make them rounded, not square.

Personally, if it was me I'd ditch the entire idea of pagecount and have 2 buttons. 1 that shows on the main page saying "View Older Articles", then 2 that show when you're on an older article page saying "View Newer Articles" and "View Older Articles".

That is incorrect output. What browser are you using ? Please double check with IE9, Chrome, FireFox, or WaterFox.

Something wierd is happening. Guru forums is freezing up my firefox (both 14.01 and 15 beta 3). It freezes the whole browser for like 30 secs and cant exit. Its the only site doing that for me in firefox. Works fine in IE though.

edit: no its nothing to do with guru, other sites are now acting up and freezing it for me as well.

Looks great, but I agree that most websites should've adapted to the widescreen formats by now.

Please, just don't do what warp2search.net did, it was one of my favorite websites, now, It's crap.

Then i bookmarked forum instead of front page.
Looks ugly, colors like from mid 90's.
Sure it's "clean" but it's completely cut off from forum style now.

Not something I would do myself and I'd definitely ditch XHTML 1.0 Transitional (by the way, I'd consider removing <table class="rounded"> tables, they do nothing and are just extra markup) but the change is welcome. It will take some time to get used to it.

If it bothers you that much use Stylish for chrome or firefox, it lets you use your own stylesheet.

Did this in about 5 minutes with Chrome's inspector.
