AMD Catalyst 12.x (9.00 June 12) Unofficial BETA

Are the application profiles with these newer than the 12.6 cap1 ? These have a newer version number but in the past folk mentioned the newer ones in leaks are often missing profiles from official release?

Nope, he did not. The Guru3d link was added by Hilbert Hagedoorn or rflair and also he removed the link from the author. Therefore marthand edited his post after that to add his link again into the posting, that's it. As I said, you are too slow.

I keep getting Firefox not responding and even explorer not responding on desktop. Never had this before, rolling back to 12.6

Also during first install I got a black screen and did not recover back to desktop necessitating a reset. IIRC had that bug with ATI drivers 2 years ago, crossfire related.

Errr ... is the vista support dropped forever?

 

So I get all the 2d problems also (clocks staying at 400/1000, flickering whenever opening windows and scrolling web pages) my solution is to put all the important .dll's with an older catalyst version. What this does is keeps the older 2d driver file but has all the new d3d, ogl, and uvd .dll's . My problem is I dont what file controls the 2d, so there are a handful of .dll's that are still "old". Point me to a good upload site and I can upload these babies and you guys can get the best of both worlds (good 2d and new 3d).

I had to disable hw acceleration in Firefox with these drivers. Scrolling up and down on a page would cause the 'working set' memory in Windows 7 to skyrocket up and fill my entire ram in just a few seconds. Weird.

This would also seize up the whole system basically, explorer and all.

File downloaded fine from guru3d mirror here and extracted without issues using WinRAR.
Setup is now running and installing fine on my 6970 in Windows 8 Release Preview (b.8400)

 

I don't care. He didn't respect the author of the driver thread. If he do this again in a "the rules he wants to about" behavior and this might result in a leak stop, I have to blame him. And many more AMD users should blame him. If this continues I would prefer marthand share his beta drivers in another forum. I don't want a leak stop due to some owner with a lack of respect, do you understand my concern?

 

That sounds like the cause, I never bothered troubleshooting it just rolled back.
