well guys im looking for a decent card that can run BF3 in ultra settings preferably, something not to over priced as I do work but its not amazing money :(.

    but anyway im running:

AMD Athlon ii X4 640 (Quad Core) With Freezer Pro 7
4GB of DDR3 Ram (1600 I think) I can get 4 more GB with an offer amazon gave me though
    M5A 78L-M USB3 Asus Mobo
    Currently a Ati Radeon 4870
    750w Alpine PSU

with that I can play BF3 in Ultra but jumps around a little, where as crysis 2 and gta iv things like that will run in ultra with no hickups.

basicly I just want a card that can get rid of the jumpiness of ultra in BF3

    Thanks :)

and most important at which res did you play? for a reasonable price you can get a good 7850 oc or a 7870 reference but it's a little over 300 euro, it will be a very nice upgrade from your 4870.

thanks for replies guys appreciate it, I shall take a look into those cards, and to the guy who asked what res I play in I just use the normal 1080p 1920x1080 res. im on a 23" 3D LED screen so that res looks good enough for me lol

sry but that psu appears to be garbage. a true 750 watt would have 62.5 amps on the 12v rail. this one here is 38 amps iirc and only has 1 6pin pci e cable. would upgrade the psu before thinking about getting a new vga

well I got that psu about a month ago lol saw it cheap and as my old psu was dying fast I got that as it was cheap I find it runs fine, but getting another means more money,

well im still planning on getting another 4Gb of DDR3 1600 and a new graphics card I have looked about at the high end psu's bit high on prices though which I find pretty strange. but if anybody could recommend a decent psu that would be suitable for the 7870 or 560 cards etc.

also some of those cards are pci-e 3.0 my board supports 2.1 I suppose those cards work fine backward compatible as im only looking for that little extra push im not going crazy over stuff to buy.

At the price you suggested I would go with GTX 670 or a 7870. Personally, I'd go with the 670 especially since you're talking about BF3.

EDIT: Yeah didn't realize the 670 was so expensive in the UK. Go with the 7950 that maximus posted a link to.
