    Hello Guys

Anyone else got this issue, poor performance and uneven frame rate?
The GTX680's run at 700MHz so not restricted by processing power.

I have looked around but not found a solution to date.
Downloading latest 301.40 beta drivers to see if that will help

    Cheers guys :)

You haven't found a solution because diablo 3 just released:) , i'd say wait a while...drivers will come out and will be optimised for diablo , in the mean time if the issues are serious just run it in single card.

Set either the Global Profile or the Diablo III one's Power setting to "Prefer maximum performance" to force the game to run with full 3D clocks.

It doesn't fix the stutter though but I don't think this is a GTX 6x0 issue anyway but one caused by the fact that the game uses an always-online DRM that streams data from the server.

    Streaming data! Dam!
So to bad if you have a poor internet connection!

Ill try Max Performance, already tried a single GPU.
    Thanks guys :)

It is likely the VSync problem with the GTX600 series currently. I've seen stuttering using VSync on pretty much every game I've tried.

I really hope Nvidia fixes this soon, it is annoying enough I haven't really done much gaming lately.

I dual boot and I find that Windows XP does not exhibit the stuttering issue with the GTX 670/680 video cards. On the downside Windows XP does not support SLi on the 6xx series.

300.83 was causing me stutters, now im running on 301.40.
    Performance is 10 fold better.

Of note, I also configured my internet connection for GAMER (iinet).

Both of these have now resolved my stutter issue.
Still jumps every now and again, but nothing to worry about.

So it was either the drivers or Lag for me.
    Hope this helps others :)

What happens when you disable SLI?
It's not like you need SLI to max out this game.

Didnt they explain some of the micro stuttering in beta? They said it was due to new items/information that was being loaded and put into the cache?

Does it stutter all the time, or only in new areas and around new creatures/models?

I get constant albeit minor stuttering when moving around. You can see clearly the screen is not scrolling as smoothly as should be. This happened in the beta too across three different drivers, all on the GTX 680. However, I'm pretty sure this issue is related to the game itself and the way it streams not the graphics card or drivers (see Mojak's post).

I've had a similar issue, when I noticed that with Vsync, the game was for some reason capped at 50fps, instead of 60.
What fixed it for me was to increase the Max Foreground FPS=200 in the Diablo 3 options.
And yes, I know it's strange, since with Vsync on it should not even affect it :p

    My issue came back.

But you my BEST FRIEND have indeed corrected the problem.
I can confirm that this method does infact correct the stutter issue when walking around.

    LEGEND! :)

Stutter/juddering here on 560 ti! :bang:

60fps then it stutters/judders drops to 59fps -> 60fps then it stutters/judders again 59fps -> 60fps and repeat, sometimes it drops to 58fps This is with vsync on and not using adaptive. it looks as if the screen judders when the frame rate drops to 58/59fps but it quickly returns to 60fps however turn off vsync an the frame rate never gets anywhere near a low of 60 it's much higher

The 301.40 still has the stutter bug, see this thread on nvidia.forums http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=226227&st=640

Turning Threaded optimization off, in the nvcpl helps alot, turning on triple buffering also helps a bit, but it's still not gone.

    301.40 doesn't fix anything.

Looking through the D3 forums the stuttering does not seem limited to the 680, sli, or nvidia. There is definitely something going on with the game itself. I get a weird bit of stuttering here and there and Ash's suggestion of maxing out foreground fps to 200 is the best yet, although not a 100% fix. Without vsync and an fps limit under 100 makes the game completely unplayable for me. I'm also forcing tb via d3doverrider but i don't think its doing much.
Also the game can be a surprising gpu hog at times. I have seen it hit 85+% usage on both cards quite often
