Hello, Since my 9800GTX+ overcooked I bought a GTX460 from MSI, it's the HAWK talon edition. Ever since I put this card in I get these rare pink screen issues. I used to only happen when I was on the desktop doing barely anything. It would go pink, says the drivers crashed and fixed itself and nothing happend further on. (no reboot) I was just playing Battlefield 3 when it happend while gaming for the first time. I tried to record it: http://youtu.be/IOThZkifg9s I had to reboot my PC because the mouse was stuck and alt+f4 was not working. After reboot the bios had no message whatsoever and now I'm back again. I'm still a bit worried it will die soon. I still have warranty. But I wonder what I would get as a replacement since this card is pretty old already and it's the HAWK talon edition. Any thoughts? Edit: Working youtube link
RMA it to MSI, they will replace with an equivalent performing card, so at least you'll have a properly working card
This should work: http://youtu.be/IOThZkifg9s Does anyone have any experience with MSI? How fast are they and what can you expect? Sometimes it doesn't happen for days and sometimes multiple times a day. Weird stuff.
Their tech support sucks and their RMA department is worse. My last RMA with MSI took 6 weeks and multiple calls where I was lied to....
Weird thing is that it does work probably. Decent performance and stuff. But these pink dizzle appears very rarely. If I can't game for weeks I get toasted
I had a Palit Sonic Platinum and a MSI HAWK 460 die roughly the same time. Both weren't OC'ed past their factory OC clocks and temps were fine. I kept getting driver crashing and eventually found the card to be the issue by downclocking. The MSI one had lines and artifacts whilethe Palit one just caused driver resets during gaming. Palit took about one week to return the card to me. Same for MSI.
That's doable. Thanks for the info. What did you get in return? Did they repair it or sent a new card?
